THE POWER
OF WATER
Chachapoyas has become a top destination. With the Kuelap
fortress as its main attraction, this part of Peru’s northern
jungle is luring more and more tourists, offering great
weather, amazing archaeological sites, and stunning natural
beauty.
Located only 42 kilometres from Chachapoyas lies
Cocachimba, a village known for being the starting point
from many of the hikes leading to the famous Gocta waterfall.
This quaint and visually impressive area is home to the Gocta
Andes Lodge, the perfect place to disconnect and melt into
the impressive surrounding views, which include a privileged
perspective of one of the world’s highest waterfalls.
The nature of this beautiful place seems to almost knock
at one’s door. Open the curtains upon waking in any of the
16 rooms and two suites, and take in the grandeur of the
Gocta waterfall. Then, enjoy the warm morning sunshine on
the terrace or balcony before setting off to discover what
Chachapoyas has to offer.
If you prefer to stay relaxing on the hotel grounds, make
your way to the pool, or enjoy a refreshing beverage at the
restaurant’s bar; anywhere you go, there are views to be
enjoyed. The ample gardens showcase some of the local
flora – with a lovely variety of orchids - and attract some of
the local fauna.
Gocta Andes Lodge
Are you ready to become familiar with the treasures
Chachapoyas has to offer? If so, be sure to make your way
to the Kuelap fortress and its new aerial tramway, take
a hike down to the base of the Gocta waterfall and enjoy
the natural surroundings, and learn about the ancient
funerary traditions of the Chachapoyas culture with a visit
to see the Karajia sarcophagi, the Revash mausoleum, and
the Leymebamba museum. An unforgettable experience,
Gocta Andes Lodge
without a doubt.
