GEOGRAPHIC PRIZE

The 360° Machu Picchu Train was nominated for a Reader
Award in the “Right Track” category, by the National
Geographic Traveller Magazine. This category recognises
the best available train trips – on both long and short
routes – that feature the highest level of service and
technology, guaranteeing a top-tier experience. At the
award ceremony held on November 26, however, the
Eurostar that travels from London to Amsterdam won
over Peru’s representative.
LimaTours
The global edition of the World Travel Awards, considered
the Oscars in tourism, brought together representatives
from the best destinations across the world. Peru was
recognised in three categories: ‘World’s Leading Culinary
Destination,’ ‘World’s Leading Cultural Destination,’ and
‘World’s Leading Tourist Attraction’ for our beloved and
infamous Machu Picchu Sanctuary. The winners of the
World Travel Awards – which celebrates its 25th anniversary
this year – are the leaders in their respective regions, chosen
through a public vote as well as by industry professionals.

PERU’S HERITAGE
IS CELEBRATED
IN INDIA
The Indian and South Asian version of Travel +
Leisure Magazine named Peru the Best Cultural
Heritage Destination in the seventh edition of India’s
Best Awards 2018. The magazine’s readers chose
our country because of its historical wealth and its
archaeological sites, among which the most popular
are Machu Picchu and the Nasca Lines. This award
is added on to those granted by India’s Lonely
Planet Magazine, in the “Best Emerging International
Destination” category.
