monumental fortresses to Inca villages that maintain their<br />

After refuelling at the chicheria, continue to the town of Pachar,<br />
home of the Cerveceria del Valle (Sacred Valley Brewery). Here,<br />
local ingredients are used to produce interesting and tasty<br />
varieties of artisanal beer. This project not only yields a highquality<br />
beverage, but it also contributes to the development<br />
of local communities through activities and donations, and<br />
without generating an impact on the local environment.<br />

Hop on an electric bicycle and experience the symbiosis of the<br />
modern and the traditional. Follow a 30 kilometre-long route<br />
across agricultural fields and paths, passing through villages<br />
and cities, with the steady murmuring of the river as your<br />
soundtrack. Stop into a traditional chicheria where you will<br />
have the chance to enjoy this ancestral, corn-based beverage<br />
– prepared and sold on site.<br />

Recognised as part of Peru’s cultural heritage, chicha is<br />
one of Latin America’s oldest traditional beverages. Made<br />
from fermented corn, chicha was traditionally enjoyed by<br />
Inca nobility and considered an essential part of religious<br />
ceremonies as an offering to the gods. Today, chicha is often<br />
used in local gastronomy as an ingredient in some of the<br />
regional dishes served in traditional ‘picanterias’.<br />
