New Year, New You...<br />

We’ve all heard the phrase, ‘New Year,<br />

New You’. It arrives every <strong>January</strong> filled<br />

with preconceptions that we’re hitting<br />

the gym and changing our diet, striving<br />

for a bikini body by June.<br />

The first few weeks are fine, filled with renewed<br />

enthusiasm, proud of our gym membership and<br />

loving our new trainers and yoga pants that make<br />

our bum look good!<br />

Then February hits and we’re reaching for the<br />

chocolate, wondering why we attempted such big<br />

goals. What about trying a different approach?<br />

Instead of trying to change ourselves completely,<br />

consider setting a resolution to be KIND to<br />

yourself? It sounds like an unusual concept, we<br />

believe we are kind to ourselves more than we<br />

really are. I imagine we’re all guilty of burning the<br />

candle at both ends.<br />

Furthering our careers while keeping an active<br />

social life or juggling family life and keeping a tidy<br />

house.<br />

Sometimes being kind to yourself means saying<br />

no. An act of self love could be taking a relaxing<br />

bath, reading a book, saying no to overtime<br />

because you really do need to rest.<br />

Staying in on a weekend and pampering yourself<br />

or encouraging yourself to go out and do<br />

something fun. Whatever it is that you choose,<br />

DO NOT feel guilty for it. Embrace the feeling and<br />

recharge your batteries.<br />
