<strong>January</strong> has arrived and every year<br />

it happens to me…<br />

Post-Christmas guilt starts to burden my thoughts,<br />

the sore feeling of over-indulgence lingers<br />

throughout my body and usually I feel the regret<br />

of one too many glasses of fizz over the festive<br />

period… this year happens to be no different.<br />

To be brutally honest, I am bored of running on<br />

that treadmill that just doesn’t get you anywhere.<br />

Making a pleasant change from the gym, I was<br />

very excited to be invited along to attend Millie<br />

Dobie’s Pilates reformer class, and trust me, a class<br />

or two of reformer Pilates will have you in shape<br />

quicker than you think possible. I have always<br />

wanted to try Pilates, not the mat class, but the<br />

real deal on the reformer machines.<br />

Reformer Pilates is similar, yet very different to<br />

mat based Pilates. It is done using the machine<br />

and is generally more intense and more dynamic<br />

than mat based Pilates as it adds resistance to the<br />

Pilates exercises via the use of the springs, which<br />

form part of the machine. A class on the reformer<br />

is excellent to help with rehabilitation from injury<br />
