SUPERSTARS
Recognising changemakers in schools and beyond
The greatest things often start with small beginnings and we know a few schools
who are definitely on the right track. Here are our shout outs to some amazing
people who are making a difference for schools in Malaysia!
SK Sayong, Perak
En. Arthur Bangguan
SK Pendidikan Khas, Sabah
For implementing a creative method
to teach the Standard 1
hearing-impaired
children how to
write alphabets.
Using the
Chromebook,
En. Arthur uses
animations from
YouTube that
show step by step
how to write each
letter. He then gets his
students to trace on the
screen and they would
then practice on paper. As a
result, students are more focused and
engaged and they would high-five
each other with smiles when they
managed to trace the letters
correctly! Well done Cikgu Arthur for
thinking out of the box in finding ways
to teach better!
For being so generous with
knowledge of how to use Frog!
They conducted a Frog training
Latihan Dalam Perkhidmatan
(LADAP) session for 18 teachers at
SK Tanah Merah and despite some
initial technical challenges, teachers
were able to learn how to use Frog.

SJK(T) Barathy,
Kedah
For winning the first place in the
Kedah State Best Primary’s VLE
Dashboard Competition! The
competition was held in conjunction
with Karnival Pembestarian &
Teknologi Pendidikan Negeri Kedah
2014. A special shout out to SJK(T)
Barathy’s Head Teacher, Puan
Amuniyammal A/P Supramaniam
for encouraging the students to
participate in competitions that give
them the chance to enhance their
skills with Frog.
Pn. Marziean Shapian
SMK Bandar Baru Salak
Tinggi, Selangor
For innovating new ways to use
Frog! Together with few of her
students from her ICT class,
Pn. Marziean created a site called
SmartCo on Frog. With this, she
initiated an online Co-Curricular
Registration system where students
need not fill in paper forms
anymore. The system went viral and
other schools have followed suit!
She also created a fun and
informative site for the Program
Transformasi Diri (PTD) that is
managed by the school’s Guidance
and Counselling Unit. We are so
proud of you, Pn. Marziean for
believing that change is possible if
we work towards it!
