<strong>Paper</strong> manufacturing has a long tradition in Japan. When the first paper mill was founded in<br />
Germany in 1390, paper production already had an eight hundred year tradition in Japan.<br />
<strong>Mitsubishi</strong> <strong>Paper</strong> Mills Limited is a traditional manufacturer of speciality papers with four paper<br />
mills in Japan <strong>and</strong> two in Germany. What applies to the <strong>Mitsubishi</strong> HiTec <strong>Paper</strong> Bielefeld site<br />
also applies to <strong>Mitsubishi</strong> HiTec <strong>Paper</strong> Flensburg <strong>and</strong> the Japanese subsidiaries: our goal is<br />
to produce first class paper that completely satisfies our customers. <strong>Quality</strong> consciousness<br />
is our highest priority. The entire production is monitored by a quality management system<br />
that we regularly certify according to ISO 9001:2000. It has therefore been officially confirmed<br />
that the quality consciousness in our company is st<strong>and</strong>ard practice.<br />
<strong>Environmental</strong> Protection with <strong>Quality</strong> Seal<br />
<strong>Paper</strong> manufacturers live from, <strong>and</strong> with, natural resources. This also has a long history.<br />
The careful h<strong>and</strong>ling of natural resources, the environmentally conscious manufacturing <strong>and</strong><br />
further processing of our products is therefore a fundamental pillar of our corporate thinking<br />
<strong>and</strong> actions in addition to that of quality consciousness.<br />
We developed our first environmental guidelines back in the 1980s. Then, as today, our<br />
environmental objectives went far beyond national or European law. Here, we rely on<br />
absolute transparency. Every customer can view our environmental guidelines at www.mitsubishi-paper.com.<br />
<strong>Our</strong> measures for the protection of the environment include environmentally friendly packaging<br />
management. Here we have reduced the packaging volume by up to 90 percent <strong>and</strong><br />
the weight by up to 60 percent. We only use separable, reusable, <strong>and</strong> completely recyclable<br />
materials. According to the requirements of the ISO 14001 certification, a<br />
voluntary pick-up service for pallets <strong>and</strong> pallet cover boards has been set up for Germany<br />
<strong>and</strong>, by arrangement, for other European countries too.
