Why <strong>Health</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Safety</strong><br />
is so important?<br />
‘<strong>Health</strong>’ is defined<br />
under the WHS Act to<br />
mean physical <strong>and</strong><br />
psychological health.<br />
Everybody should be<br />
aware of the hazards in<br />
every single place that<br />
you are at.<br />
<strong>Health</strong> <strong>and</strong> safety<br />
includes:<br />
1. Safe system of work,<br />
house, class, everyday.<br />
2. Information about<br />
safety, trainings,<br />
intructions in order to<br />
protect everyody from<br />
risks.<br />
3. Psychological <strong>and</strong> physical<br />
safe enviroment.<br />

SAFE AT HOME<br />
There are many hazards in<br />
the for instance:<br />
KITCHEN<br />
- Using gloves to take the<br />
tray from the oven<br />
- Do not run or do brusque<br />
movements with a knife in<br />
your h<strong>and</strong><br />
- Do not touch your eyes after<br />
cutting onion<br />
- Being careful to not spill hot<br />
water.<br />
- Keeping the area clean<br />
FAMILY<br />
- Feeling safe at home<br />
becomes first of all from<br />
trusting your family members.<br />
- Good behaviour, respect<br />
from part of the flatmates<br />
- Making sure you close the<br />
door when you leave.
SAFE IN ART<br />
- Clean up the spills as<br />
soon as they occur.<br />
- Use an apron to protect<br />
your clothes from different<br />
materials<br />
- Do not run in class.<br />
- Wash your h<strong>and</strong>s<br />
frequently to not ruin your<br />
clothes or to avoid<br />
chemicals get into your<br />
bodysystem<br />
- Do not leave bags or other<br />
different objects on the floor<br />
in order to avoid tripping<br />
over.<br />
- Do not use some<br />
materials that can<br />
jeopardize the room area.<br />
- Use gloves <strong>and</strong> goggles<br />
to protect yourself if it might<br />
be needed.
SAFE SYSTEM OF WORK<br />
1. Underst<strong>and</strong> the risk<br />
2. Take regular breaks<br />
3. Avoid stooping or twisting<br />
4. Protect your back<br />
5. Use mechanical aids whenever<br />
possible<br />
6. Stay sober<br />
7. Wear protective equipment<br />
8. Talk about any concern<br />
9. Know your rights
