October 21 // Nimbus State Recreation Area, Historic<br />

More than 1,500 participants joined this year’s<br />

half marathon, relay, 5K, <strong>and</strong> kids’ 1K breakaway<br />

challenges that celebrated the legacy of Johnny Cash<br />

via themed T-shirts, rockabilly music, <strong>and</strong> a tribute<br />

b<strong>and</strong> at the finish line. Proceeds benefited local youth<br />

fitness <strong>and</strong> local trail maintenance.<br />

BACON AND BREW BASH<br />

October 6 // Roseville Police Actvities League Center,<br />

Roseville<br />

This annual fundraiser hosted by Roseville Police<br />

Activities League (RPAL) included beer from local<br />

breweries, bacon-inspired dishes from area eateries,<br />

music, dancing, a silent auction, <strong>and</strong> raffles. All funds<br />

raised from the sold-out event benefitted RPAL <strong>and</strong> its<br />

mission to enrich the lives of Roseville youth by providing<br />

safe, supervised environments for recreational, athletic,<br />

social, educational, <strong>and</strong> cultural activities.<br />
