FLB Entertainment Center—owned by Wally <strong>and</strong> Sue Dreher since 1979—<br />

celebrated 40 years in business on October 26 with food samples, raffle prizes,<br />

a DJ, <strong>and</strong> a live performance by Isl<strong>and</strong> of Black & White. The Dreher family has<br />

always been a big supporter of the <strong>Folsom</strong> community by giving regularly to local<br />

schools, churches, <strong>and</strong> fundraisers.<br />

Another taco joint is everyone’s<br />

fulfilled wish. Flakos Takos, a<br />

taqueria chain from <strong>El</strong>k Grove,<br />

opened another (<strong>and</strong> much closer)<br />

location in Cameron Park. The<br />

locally owned business is sited at<br />

3326 Coach Lane in the Cameron<br />

Park Drive Plaza <strong>and</strong> offers $1 tacos<br />

on Tuesdays (exclusions apply),<br />

plus mulitas, tortas, <strong>and</strong> more.<br />

Carl Sundahl <strong>El</strong>ementary<br />

School in <strong>Folsom</strong> recently<br />

hosted a ribbon cutting for the<br />

now completed $20.4 million<br />

expansion <strong>and</strong> modernization.<br />

Portable buildings were<br />

replaced with permanent<br />

structures, a kindergarten<br />

building was built, the library<br />

<strong>and</strong> media center were<br />

improved, a state-of-the-art<br />

playground was installed, <strong>and</strong><br />

designated pick-up <strong>and</strong> dropoff<br />

lanes were added to the<br />

exp<strong>and</strong>ed parking lot.<br />

Boulevard 41 Wood Fired Pizza at<br />

4364 Town Center Boulevard in<br />

the <strong>El</strong> <strong>Dorado</strong> <strong>Hills</strong> Town Center is<br />

officially open. They have plenty of<br />

signature pizzas <strong>and</strong> salads crafted<br />

by culinary experts, 41 self-pour<br />

beers on tap, <strong>and</strong> much more.<br />

The new <strong>Folsom</strong> Parks & Recreation Director is Lorraine Poggione, who has been serving the city since 2002 as the<br />

l<strong>and</strong>scaping <strong>and</strong> lighting manager. Poggione was responsible for renovations that improved water conservation <strong>and</strong><br />

will now manage various complexes in addition to 48 parks, 50 miles of recreational trails, <strong>and</strong> special events...The<br />

next local company to go green is <strong>Folsom</strong> Lake RV, which has invested close to $1 million improving the Highway<br />

50 facility. Solar shade structures will provide employees <strong>and</strong> customers with shade <strong>and</strong> charging stations while<br />

also offsetting the electricity the dealership consumes. Other improvements like new fencing, roof safety harness<br />

systems, <strong>and</strong> two more vehicle lifts were added as well...Fifteen area Dutch Bros raised money for the family of fallen Sacramento<br />

Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Stasyuk earlier this year, resulting in $62,647. Stasyuk is survived by his wife, mother, father, <strong>and</strong> sister, <strong>and</strong><br />

the money raised will go toward supporting his family...Popular food truck br<strong>and</strong> Authentic Street Taco has opened a brick-<strong>and</strong>mortar<br />

restaurant at 875 Embarcadero Drive in <strong>El</strong> <strong>Dorado</strong> <strong>Hills</strong>. The menu includes all your favorites: tacos, quesadillas, <strong>and</strong> burritos.<br />
