unMark was originally started in 1949
by R. D. Buchan as The Pulaski Banking
Company in Hawkinsville, GA. In 1976,
The Pulaski Banking Company changed its name to
SunMark Bancshares, Inc. Sunmark continued to
flourish and in 1997 we branched out into Warner
Robins and opened our Houston Lake office. Then in
2001 Bonaire and Fort Valley branches were opened.
In 2016, we opened our 5th location in Perry. This
year in 2018, we just opened our 6th location in
Byron. SunMark has continued to shine through the
economy’s ups and downs over the years, we remain
well-capitalized and well-maintained, enabling us
to help our customers and communities where
we live, work and play. Middle Georgia remains
one of the fastest growing areas in Georgia and
we are committed to supporting its growth. Our
primary purpose in all of our markets is to create
an atmosphere that allows every customer to be
successful.
