Sugarplum Tree opened its doors in 1979 and was purchased by
owner Juli Waller in 2017. The boutique offers unique clothing, shoes,
accessories, and gifts for babies, toddlers, and tweens.
Sugarplum Tree specializes in smocked, embroidered, appliqued and
fine traditional clothing for boys and girls, as well as modern fashions
for children and tweens. The business offers personal shopping,
complimentary gift-wrapping services, and online sales, with shipping
all over the world.
“We love to see our customers from years past now shopping for their
children and grandchildren,” Waller said. “As the city grows, we plan to
expand in order to continue the legacy the Sugarplum Tree has left for
over 40 years.”
Two of a Kind opened in 2015 and has quickly built a loyal customer
base, offering handmade, custom home furnishings and gifts in Houston
County, said owner Alicia McMurrian, adding that the business also
offers wedding registries and gift cards.
“We have something for everyone (i.e. men, women, children, and
babies) and for every room in the house,” McMurrian said.
Many of the items in the store are crafted by hand, such as handpainted
door hangers, hand-painted silhouettes, wood signs, custom
furniture, and canvas art. The business carries a mix of unique, rustic,
and traditional style home decor items.
The business also serves eight flavors of Blue Bell ice cream, which are
available in a cup or choice of two types of cones.
Since opening in 2014, Village Boutique has moved to a larger
location twice because the business outgrew the space it had for women’s
clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry, other accessories, and gift items.
“We have a very unique pricing system that provides us the luxury of
not having to price and tag everything in our store,” owner Dianna Hall
said. “We have set pricing on everything. This saves us time, which in
turn, saves our customers dollars.”
