2017<br />

Artifact Recovery Team. While deployed, he was hired<br />

away from the <strong>Fort</strong> <strong>Meade</strong> Museum by the U. S. Army<br />

Center of Military History where he was employed as a<br />

Curator. Besides Desert Storm, Jim was sent to Haiti as<br />

DoD rep for Historic Property during Operation Uphold<br />

Democracy, was on one of the Army's designated recovery<br />

teams to support historic recovery operations at Ground<br />

Zero at the Pentagon, and assisted the 101st Airborne<br />

Division (AASLT) with artifact recovery during Operation<br />

Iraqi Freedom in Mosul, Iraq, in 2003.<br />

Although having been gone from the <strong>Fort</strong> <strong>Meade</strong><br />

Museum since 1991, Jim lived nearby and returned to<br />

assist in special projects. His assistance in the installation's<br />

<strong>100</strong>th Anniversary Gala and his input to this book have<br />

been invaluable.<br />

Jim passed away on Oct. 14 2017. He was buried in his<br />

replica WWI uniform.
