Hoops For Youth Player Conduct Agreement Player’s Name: ____________________ Date: ____________ I hereby pledge to be positive about my Hoops For Youth experience and accept responsibility for my participation by following this Players' Code of Conduct: I will participate in Hoops For Youth because I want to, not because others want me to. I will remember that basketball is an opportunity to learn and have fun. I will encourage good sportsmanship from fellow players, coaches, officials and parents at all times. If I have a problem with something, I will discuss it with my coach at the earliest opportunity, rather than let it grow into a bigger problem later on. I will remember that winning isn’t everything that having fun, playing fair, improving my skills, making friends, and giving my best efforts are the most important aspects of youth basketball. I will conduct myself with honor and dignity. I will treat every coach, referee, player, and spectator with respect at all times; regardless of race, sex, creed, or abilities, and I will expect to be treated accordingly. I know that at all times, I represent Hoops For Youth, my team and my town. I deserve to play in an environment that is free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol; and expect everyone to refrain from the use of these substances at all games. Hoops For Parent/Guardian Conduct Agreement Date: ____________ I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care, and encouragement for my child participating in Hoops For Youth by following this Parents’ Code of Conduct: I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, and officials at every game, practice or other youth sports event. I will support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all. I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or ability. I will place the emotional and physical well being of my child ahead of my personal desire to win. I will remember that the game is for youth not adults. I will do my very best to make youth sports fun for my child. I will insist that my child play in a safe and healthy environment that is free from drugs, tobacco and alcohol and will refrain from the use of these substances at all HFY events.
