In the second decade of the new century, <strong>Oklahoma</strong> has one of the strongest<br />

economies in the nation. That lofty position did not come by accident—it is<br />

the result of a focused and strategic plan. The private sector has linked arms with<br />

state government to create a friendly environment for new and expanding business.<br />

The Pew Center said <strong>Oklahoma</strong> was “the best place in the world to do business<br />

in oil and gas.”<br />

There are many factors that make the atmosphere for growth in <strong>Oklahoma</strong> so<br />

promising. In 2012, Forbes Magazine ranked the state third among all the states in<br />

the category of overall economic climate for business. The Kauffman Foundation<br />

labeled <strong>Oklahoma</strong> “the friendliest state toward small business.”<br />
