Oklahoma: A Story Through Her People

In the second decade of the new century, Oklahoma has one of the strongest
economies in the nation. That lofty position did not come by accident—it is
the result of a focused and strategic plan. The private sector has linked arms with
state government to create a friendly environment for new and expanding business.
The Pew Center said Oklahoma was “the best place in the world to do business
in oil and gas.”
There are many factors that make the atmosphere for growth in Oklahoma so
promising. In 2012, Forbes Magazine ranked the state third among all the states in
the category of overall economic climate for business. The Kauffman Foundation
labeled Oklahoma “the friendliest state toward small business.”
