Beyond her philanthropic endeavors, Edith<br />

was a pioneer journalist with a life-long<br />

passion for news. She established the Ethics<br />

and Excellence in Journalism Foundation<br />

(EEJF) in 1982 to support organizations<br />

dedicated to advancing the quality and ethical<br />

standards of journalism.<br />

Today, the Ethics and Excellence in<br />

Journalism Foundation makes grants to<br />

journalism schools and other nonprofit<br />

journalism organizations primarily in<br />

the areas of investigative reporting, youth<br />

education, and professional development.<br />

<strong>Through</strong> these grants, EEJF invests in the<br />

future of journalism by building the<br />

ethics, skills and opportunities needed to<br />

advance principled, probing news and<br />

information. Gaylord College of Journalism<br />

and Mass Communications, <strong>Oklahoma</strong><br />

Watch, Investigative News Network, Fund<br />

for Investigative Journalism, and Friends of<br />

the <strong>Oklahoma</strong> History Center are some of<br />

the main grantees of the foundation. In all,<br />

EEJF has given over 490 organizations<br />

across the United States have received grants<br />

totaling more than $37 million.<br />

Inasmuch Foundation and the Ethics and<br />

Excellence in Journalism Foundation have a<br />

staff of twelve dedicated employees. They are<br />

located at 210 Park Avenue in <strong>Oklahoma</strong> City<br />
