1921<br />
The first fast food restaurant was White<br />
Castle in U.S.<br />
1963<br />
First ever fast food restaurant, A&W was<br />
opened in <strong>Malaysia</strong>, located at Jalan Tuanku<br />
Abdul Rahman.<br />
1982<br />
McDonald’s opened<br />
its first outlet in Jalan Bukit Bintang.<br />
1948<br />
McDonalds was redesigned and opened by the<br />
McDonald brothers. Soon after, other fast food<br />
chains that exist today opened too.<br />
1973<br />
KFC’s first outlet<br />
located on Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman was<br />
opened.<br />
1990s<br />
Other fast food restaurants started franchising<br />
in <strong>Malaysia</strong>. It is when fast food started to become<br />
popular.

<strong>Fast</strong> <strong>Food</strong> <strong>Culture</strong> can be categorized as :<br />
- A culture where people consume fast food as their major option.<br />
- A culture where people just love to hangout at fast food restaurant.
This culture is practiced by mostly teenagers & young adults,<br />
fast food restaurants are the places they often hangout.
<strong>In</strong> <strong>Malaysia</strong>, KFC and McDonald’s are two of the most popular fast food restaurants.<br />
There are currently 271 McDonald’s outlets and over 600 KFC outlets in <strong>Malaysia</strong>.<br />
<strong>In</strong> the past, a visit to fast food restaurant was reserved for special occasions like<br />
birthday celebration and good exam grades.<br />
Today, fast food is viewed in a different way and many people see it as casual dining.
A&W was the first fast food introduced to <strong>Malaysia</strong>ns<br />
However, it is starting to be forgotten as other fast food chains becomes<br />
popular.<br />

over the years and one of the<br />
biggest factor is food consumption.<br />
However, this culture is unique<br />
in its own way.
People do not only go to fast food restaurant for their food, free wifi<br />
with the best <strong>In</strong>ternet connection might also be one of the reason.
<strong>Fast</strong> food restaurants are also a popular studying<br />
spot for students as it is a place that opens 24<br />
hours and has food.<br />
It is also a perfect place to socialize with family and friends.
To promote their food as well as fast<br />
food culture, these fast food restaurants<br />
uses various methods such as<br />
giving free food & toys .

It is a culture practiced by <strong>Malaysia</strong>ns regardless of race and<br />
religion. <strong>In</strong> fast food restaurants, we get to see <strong>Malaysia</strong>ns<br />
share their love for food together, learn and get to know each<br />
other.
