Postretirement Benefits Other Than Pensions<br />
In addition to the <strong>Bank</strong>’s retirement plans, employees who have met certain age and<br />
length-<strong>of</strong>-service requirements are eligible for both medical benefits and life insurance<br />
coverage during retirement.<br />
<strong>The</strong> <strong>Bank</strong> funds benefits payable under the medical and life insurance plans as due<br />
and, accordingly, has no plan assets. Net postretirement benefit cost is actuarially determined,<br />
using a January 1 measurement date.<br />
Following is a reconciliation <strong>of</strong> beginning and ending balances <strong>of</strong> the benefit obligation<br />
