International Auditing
As auditing has become increasingly global, many auditors are finding the ability to speak a second language
essential. The auditor should be able to use tactics that ease cultural differences, such as:
• Employing an interpreter to facilitate an audit;
• Familiarizing himself or herself with cultural differences that could affect relations with the auditee;
• Preventing serious misunderstandings by becoming acquainted with local customs.
These tactics avoid cultural differences that could interfere with the audit process.
