LCAA Fall Conference The Louisiana City Attorneys Association conducted its <strong>2018</strong> fall education conference on September 21- 22, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Baton Rouge. City attorneys and municipal representatives attended the two-day training where Russell J. Cremaldi, counsel for the City of Patterson, was confirmed as the <strong>2018</strong>- 19 LCAA President. LCAA members also elected other officers on Saturday for the <strong>2018</strong>-19 term: Numa Metoyer, III, Town of Colfax, Vice-President; Ruby Freeman, Town of Boyce, Secretary/Treasurer; Phil Canova, City of Plaquemine, City Representative; Roy K. Burns, Village of Folsom, Village Representative; and Wilbur Reynaud, Town of Lutcher, Town Representative. Congratulations to each of these municipal attorneys for the leadership that they provide for LCAA members. Conference workshops included presentations on public bid law and legislative updates, the Wayfair v South Dakota decision, the LA Code of Governmental Ethics, professionalism, legal ethics, and recent President-elect Russell Cremaldi presents a plaque to outgoing president Maurice Trippi. developments in the Code of Civil Procedure. Dinah “Penny” Ambeau-Scott, LMA Membership Services Coordinator, spearheaded the planning and coordination of this event, and she is excited to already be planning the LCAA 2019 Spring Conference, which is scheduled for Friday, March 29, 2019.
