An abstract summarizes, usually in one
paragraph of 300 words or less, the major
aspects of the entire paper in a prescribed
sequence that includes: 1) the overall purpose
of the study and the research problem(s) you
investigated; 2) the basic design of the study; 3)
major findings or trends found as a result of
your analysis; and, 4) a brief summary of your
interpretations and conclusions.

• The abstract allows you to
elaborate upon each major
aspect of the paper and helps
readers decide whether they want
to read the rest of the paper.
• Ideas are expressed clearly and
• concisely.
• Language is familiar and precise.
• Text is free of typographical errors.

Integrated energy systems and local energy markets
Abstract (Document Summary)
Significant benefits are connected with an increase in the flexibility of the Danish
energy system. On the one hand, it is possible to benefit from trading electricity
with neighboring countries, and on the other, Denmark will be able to make
better use of wind power and other types of renewable energy in the future. This
paper presents the analysis of different ways of increasing flexibility in the Danish
energy system by the use of local regulation mechanisms. This strategy is
compared with the opposite extreme, i.e. trying to solve all balancing problems
via electricity trade on the international market. The conclusion is that it is
feasible for the Danish society to include the CHP plants in the balancing of
fluctuating wind power. There are major advantages in equipping small CHP
plants as well as the large CHP plants with heat pumps. By doing so, it will be
possible to increase the share of wind power from the present 20 to 40%.
Essay

It is called essay to the written text, in
general by a single author, in which they
expose of argumentative way, the point of
view, opinions or positions of the writer
before a determined subject.

The essay is frequently used in academic
areas, although the so-called "academic
texts" is the genre that gives the author the
most freedom, since it does not have as
requirements some formalities that do
have other types of texts used in the
academic field, such as monographs or
research theses.

Advantages

Agility.
• Communication directly.
• As there is no need to evidence the investigation process, it is not necessary to
subdivide the writing in detail.
• Bibliographic citations are saved; although the freedom of the genre makes it
possible to include them occasionally (VargasAcuña).

Versatility in the extension.
• It can be written in a few pages (eg, "Antología del pan", written by Salvador
Novo, or in a book (for example, The Labyrinth of Solitude by Octavio Paz); The
most important thing is the quality of the work (Marín y Carvajal).

JOURNAL ARTICLE
What is a journal article?
• Journal articles are shorter than books and written about very
specific topics.
• A is a collection of articles like a magazine that is
published regularly throughout the year. Journals present the
most recent research, and journal articles are written by
experts, for experts. They may be published in print or online
formats, or both.

ADVANTAGES OF JOURNAL ARTICLE
1. the advantages to used the journal article is because contain
information and related research on a topic.
2. They offer clarity because Scholarly articles attempt to discuss
and outline the merits of other explanations and viewpoints which
ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY.
WHAT IS AN ANNOTATED
BIBLIOGRAPHY?
An annotated bibliography is an organized list of sources (like a
reference list). It differs from a straightforward bibliography in that
each reference is followed by a paragraph length annotation,
usually 100–200 words in length.
Depending on the assignment, an annotated bibliography might
have different purposes:

Provide a literature review on a particular subject
Help to formulate a thesis on a subject
Demonstrate the research you have performed on a particular
subject
Provide examples of major sources of information available on a
topic

ADVANTAGES

Better Understanding: Writing an annotated bibliography forces a researcher to better
understand his topic. While you are still collecting sources, begin writing your bibliography.
This allows you to understand where your research fits into the bigger picture. Writing an
annotated bibliography helps you gain prospective on your thesis and develop your point
of view. It also helps you understand what other research already exists regarding your
topic.
Avoid Procrastination: The annotated bibliographies can decrease procrastination.
Requiring students to hand in an annotated bibliography early in the research process
facilitates a more effective use of study time. It also prevents students from intentionally
delaying their research, which often leads to a better grade.

Helps With Research: Help improve research skills. When you are forced to critique each
source, you practice and improve your literary research skills. However, the advantages of
an annotated bibliography do not only apply to your research process. An extensive
annotated bibliography provides a comprehensive overview of a topic. These summaries
can help your readers decide if a source would be useful for their own research.
