HOLLY DAYS FESTIVAL OF GIFTS Holly Days Festival of Gifts began in 1985 as a craft show that was held each year at the Camden County High School and was hosted by the Camden Jr. Woman’s Club. The show at that time hosted approximately 35 exhibitors of homemade crafts and simple concessions of hamburgers, hot dogs, etc. provided by the club. Santa on Sunday from 12-3 Selfies available for a donation to the club Over the years Holly Days has moved to the Camden Intermediate School and grown to over 70 booths that include direct sales along with the crafts. Scentsy, Tupperware, Norwex, Lularoe, Pampered Chef, and custom monogramming are just some of the direct sale additions. The Camden Jr. Woman’s Club also “grew up” to become the Camden Woman’s Club, Inc. Ebenezer Baptist Church from South Mills has been providing the concessions for Holly Days for several years. Fried chicken, chicken pot pie, Brunswick stew, turkey and dressing, homemade soups and desserts are on the menu. Some visitors come to Holly Days just for the delicious foods available. Swimme & Son is the event sponsor for this year’s show. “Selfies with Santa” will be offered in their booth on Sunday from 12-3. Kids and “Kids at heart” will be able to talk to Santa and take a selfie with him for a donation to the club. This is the largest annual fundraiser for the club. Proceeds provide scholarships for high school seniors, school grants, and contributions to other local, state, national and international charities including Albemarle Hopeline, Operation Smile and the Ronald McDonald House. This year’s Holly Days Festival of Gifts will be held on November 3rd from 10 am – 5 pm and Sunday November 4th from 11 am – 4 pm. Admission is $4.00 for Adults ($3.00 with a canned food donation), $2.00 for Seniors & Students. Children under 5 are free. “Production is profit; and profit is production.
