BARBER STORY: SCHEERSALON
In contrast to the many technically
outstanding barber shops that
present themselves as hard core
- with tattoos and beards - the
Scheersalon van Jeroen Jansen in
Bladel, near Eindhoven, presents
itself as an elegant, bright men's
salon in traditional simplicity.
Jeroen has been cutting men's hair for
35 years in a classic, accomplished,
and modern manner. In addition,
he has taken a special interest in
wet shaving with the forged razor.
You can get a traditional shave with
a real straight razor in his salon,
in a tasteful ambience. This is an
absolute must, as most businesses
only use disposable blades for
efficiency and time management. It
has also become a duty for him to
help others to learn the art. For this,
he offers intensive and individual
consulting, courses, and a wide

product portfolio. Several hundred
hair dressers and private customers
have already learned how to use
forged Boker straight razors. This
passion did not arise accidentally -
as apprentice, he had to shave his
master every morning while he was
reading the newspaper. Today, he is
very grateful to his former teacher
for this, as Jeroen has mastered
stropping and the use of the razors
like nobody else.
Another great passion of Jeroen and
his wife, Yvonne, is Italy. Both of
them noticed there that the men's
selection of shaving accessories
and cosmetics was many times
more expansive than in the
Netherlands. It seemed an obvious
solution to import the items that the
Dutch market was missing out on.
Thus, every vacation also became
a business trip and educational
experience. They then founded
the website "Scheersalon.nl" and
their wholesale and retail store
"Shavingpoint.com," in which barbers
can find everything they need when
it comes to wet shaving. Since
the highest quality standards are a
must for their international product
selection, a partnership with Boker
was almost predestined.

With the straight razor model
Scheersalon, Jeroen in cooperation
with the Boker manufactory in
Solingen now presents his first
interpretation of a perfect straight
razor. Jeroen believes the 6/8" of
the blade is the optimal width for
working. The Spanish head helps
him create precise contours. For
uncompromising sharpness, Jeroen
decided on the proven silver steel.
The handle material Bocote wood
was based on his experience with
his customers' wishes, who prefer
a bit more of a rustic feel. A
highlight of this special edition is
the metal spacer. Delivered in
historic packaging with certificate
of authenticity and individual serial
