Pizza with artichoke, mushroom, olives and red pepper The ultimate private dining experience If you’re keen for a new type of dining experience, then I’d say that the Lobster Pod Bistro have probably the ultimate combination of private dining and beautiful views that I’ve seen anywhere. The owners of The Cottage Hotel, William and Sarah Ireland wanted to bring diners a new experience that would exploit the tremendous natural views that exist as well as offering a more casual way for diners to have a meal out with friends and family. The idea is that you can just turn up and dine in one of the available pods. This means that walkers along the coastal path are able to take a break in comfort and experience great seafood without the formality of a full-blown restaurant experience. Lobster - it’s a real treat - don’t miss our competition Equally, you may have a special family occasion where you all want to be together in a small group to enjoy the celebration. It’s certainly a great concept and after dining in a pod, can certainly say that it was extremely memorable. If you look at the photo (left) you can see that the pods are perfectly situated to enjoy the views and indeed the setting sun. Don’t miss some great puddings and their cheese board In terms of seafood, Lobster Pod Bistro receive regular supplies of fresh fish from Sutton Harbour, Plymouth from Rex Down fish merchants, with lobsters supplied by local Hope Cove fisherment straight from the sea right in front of the bistro. Of particular note is their seafood chowder, great when you need a hot meal in the cooler weather. The restaurant only opened in August and the menu will be ‘evolving’ for darker, cooler evenings ahead. It was fab, think the photos probably do more than I can in words, but make sure you get out to enjoy this exceptional dining experience at the Lobster Pod Bistro, Hope Cove. Editor
