How can it help me?
It is believed that Coconut oil pulling can reduce harmful
bacteria in your mouth. Many people believe that oil pulling
can remove plaque and prevent, or even cure cavities.
I personally have had many issues with my teeth since I
was very young, overcrowding, teeth removal, braces, low
enamel etc. I always care for my teeth very well however I
came to the conclusion that maybe mainstream oral care
wasn’t for me.
Having developed a fear of the dentist, a solution that
could potentially prevent cavities was a must for me!
I have to say that after oil pulling for just a few days the
very small amount of plaque I had has just about gone!
Benefits of oil pulling...
• It has been known to help reduce
infections such as abscesses
• Reduce harmful bacteria
• Reduce the appearance of plaque
on teeth
• Whiten teeth
• Potentially reduce / repair cavities
• Strengthen teeth
• Fresher breath
• Reduced tooth and gum sensitivity
all around your mouth.
You can even gargle with it if you wish.
Careful not to swallow the oil though and
ensure you spit it out at the end.
The liquid should now appear bubbly and
fine in consistency. You may notice debris in
the liquid too where it has cleaned particles
from between your teeth too.
It’s recommended to use oil pulling in the
morning, followed by brushing your teeth
thoroughly afterwards. It’s not advised after
eating.
I find it fits in with my routine to start oil
pulling before I get in the shower every
morning - I then don’t find myself watching
the clock and it always feels great to multitask.
Some people do believe that oil pulling can have many
positive effects on the body too and each individual may
experience different results.
Tips & techniques...
To oil pull simply take around a tablespoon or cap full of
coconut oil or an oil pulling mouthwash and swill the liquid
around your mouth for around 10-20 minutes.
Be sure to allow the liquid to pass through your teeth and
