The Diamond Experience...
Medical Microdermabrasion with
Diamonds at SK...
We do put our skin through a lot, and at this
time of year, it can show. It continuously fights
the sun’s harmful rays, pollution and toxins we
ingest, and at some point, these stresses and
strains can be visible through our complexions.
Skin can appear dull, dehydrated, uneven in
texture and pigmented.
One treatment which is excellent at reviving
skin and gently removing the damaged outer
layer, is the Medical Microdermabrasion with
Diamonds treatment, now available at SK.
So, what is the difference
between the Diamond treatment
and the Crystal treatment we
had before? Well… Traditional
microdermabrasion methods
use very small crystals to buff
away the outer layer of skin. This
was effective, however it had its
drawbacks such as the crystals
could be highly abrasive and
create inflammation and heat on the skin,
plus, clients needed some downtown after the
treatment, which isn’t ideal for busy lifestyles.
Diamond Microdermabrasion is much gentler
to the skin, it polishes rather than blasting, and
is highly-effective at removing the dead skin
cells. The treatment can also be customised
to suit the clients skin type and needs, as the
coarseness of the diamonds can be adjusted.
As the treatment is performed, no heat or
inflammation is created with the instruments,
this means the clients only have temporary
minor redness shortly after their treatment,
which dissipates quickly. Ensuring you can
continue with your day, without looked
permanently ‘flushed’!
Why would I want the treatment? Medical
Microdermabrasion with Diamonds helps to
improve general skin health for a brighter
more rejuvenated appearance. Secondly, it can
target specific skin conditions such as Acne
Scarring, Sun Damage, Age Spots,
Fine Lines, Blackheads, Oily Skin
and Hyperpigmentation. It also is a
relatively quick treatment, lasting
from 25 to 45 minutes, perfect to fit
into your lunchtime hour. Although
you may appear slightly flushed and
red initially after your appointment,
these effects should disappear within
half an hour, just make sure to wear
an SPF for several days to protect your skin.
To see visible, longer-lasting significant
changes, you will require a course of
treatments spaced a couple of weeks apart.
