SEPTEMBER 2018 | ISSUE #71
Is Change Good for You?
I don’t’ know why, but I always view
September as the month which
proposes the most change, I imagine
it goes back to my school days where
September meant “Back to School”.
But is change a good thing? How well do you
accept and cope with change?
Do you accept or fight change?
Our brains are superb at doing the same thing
over and over again, we are just wired that way.
So when a big change occurs, it can be very
unsettling, especially when that change is not
within our control.
We can’t stop certain things happening to us, lets
face it life can really suck sometimes, but what we
can control is how we react to it.
Is change good for us?
Change can be good for us as Winston Churchill
said “a change is as good as a rest”.
Lots of good can come from change, it can
help push us out of our comfort zone so we
can experience more, it can also make us more
flexible and adaptable, it can also allow us to have
more fun.
Take a moment to think of one great experience
you’ve had and I imagine, it was in some shape
or form, connected to a change that occurred in
your life.
What do you choose?
Change is a part of life, sometimes we have
control over the changes in our lives and
sometimes not but we always have a choice of
how we react to change.
We have a choice to embrace the change and
allow good to come from it or resist it, which can
lead to feelings of anxiety or unease.
So the next time a big change occurs in your life
take a moment to think about how you choose to
react to it, accept or fight it! It’s your choice.
