Has special effect / creative make up always been<br />
what you wanted to do?<br />
Yes, it has. Deep down I’ve always wanted to<br />
work on movie sets or photo shoots. I love painting,<br />
I’m a colour addict… and I always wanted<br />
to be a makeup, sfx artist. It just took me half my<br />
life to have the courage to choose the right path<br />
for me.<br />
Where does your inspiration for your ideas come<br />
from?<br />
Anything really, but mostly nature, animals.<br />
I am very inspired by the sky, I love painting<br />
clouds and the cosmos, nebulae, constellations…<br />
I can’t get enough of them ! lol And since I’m a<br />
bit of a nerd/geek/dork, I also love recreating<br />
movie / tv show / video games characters.<br />
Who are some of the makeup artists that you<br />
admire?<br />
Oh my, that’s a tough one because I follow a<br />
looooot of painfully talented people. I don’t<br />
want to forget any of them but I guess my crushes<br />

Which one is your favorite makeup artist?<br />
I don’t know if I can answer that… it’s so hard to<br />
just pick one ! I think my biggest influence has<br />
always been my mom =) As for my favorite artist<br />
on instagram hmmmmmmmmmm... I’ll go with<br />
Akalyna (@akalyna_ne_verba) she’s beautiful,<br />
damn talented and such a sweetheart. She’s one<br />
of the reasons I pushed myself so hard, because I<br />
wanted to be as good as her !!! lol<br />
What has been your favorite creation to date?<br />
Of mine? Oh dear lol…. Hmmmmmmm….<br />
It’s usually the last one because I have usually<br />
improved since the previous makeup but if i had<br />
to pick just one…. I have two favorites, my « paradise<br />
garden » one, that I painted for my mom’s<br />
birthday and my Skull Illusion one.<br />
How important is social media to you and your<br />
career as a makeup artist?<br />
I have mixed feelings about social media. One<br />
the one hand they can be very time consuming<br />
BUT on the other hand they have really helped<br />
me grow my audience, especially Instagram. The<br />
makeup community on instagram is the best in<br />
my opinion… it’s extremely supportive and not<br />
as competitive or mean as on other platforms,<br />
like twitter or facebook. I need social media to<br />
put myself out there and make a name for myself<br />
but I try n ot to spend too much time on my<br />
phone<br />
Do you have any advice for aspiring makeup<br />
artist?<br />
I get asked that a lot and I really don’t know<br />
what to say because I’m self-taught and I’m not<br />
sure I’m the best person to give someone else<br />
advice lol… but I will say what I always say :<br />
try and get quality products, because it REALLY<br />
makes a difference. I used to paint with really<br />
really cheap paint and I guess it was all right.<br />
And one day I got my first real professional<br />
bodypaint… And WOW it just changed my life<br />
and I started painting better stuff<br />
be patient… growing an audience, improving<br />
your skills takes a looooot of time… months,<br />
years… do collabs with other artists, the support<br />
and sharing of your work will help you grow and<br />
get known. It’s also a great way to share tips and<br />
learn from other and keep your motivation high<br />
(I shouldn’t give this advice because I’m very<br />
bad at following it lol but…) be kind to yourself<br />
and embrace your beauty, accept your flaws and<br />
see every new creation as a success, even when<br />
they’re not up to your expectations. Every step<br />
you make is a step closer to your goal<br />
If you could leave one mark on the world, what<br />
would it be?<br />
Oh I don’t know if I want to leave a mark on the<br />
world, honestly. I just want to be remembered as<br />
a good person I guess. And if I can help others<br />
express themselves through art and grow as an<br />
artist, then I can die fulfilled =)<br />
