contract environments from medical facilities to food 

processing plants. GROHE's touch-free fittings meet the

All GROHE fittings have smooth surfaces with no corners 

and crevices where dirt can accumulate making GROHE 

fittings easy to clean and particularly resistant to soiling - 

water drips off immediately and furring is prevented. 

In order to ensure perfectly hygienic water, preventing the 

formation of legionellae, biofilms and similar disease due 

to stagnating water, some GROHE models offer automatic 

flushing function at pre-set intervals as well as thermal 

disinfection. 

Vandal-proof design.

Fittings in public buildings need special protection against 

vandalism. GROHE offers special solutions that help 

counteract vandalism and effectively prevent intentional 

flooding. Concealed installation, automatic shut-off valves, 

rotation locks and special materials such as stainless steel 

are just some of the model-specific solutions that provide 

additional protection against vandalism. 

Bright and well-illuminated public facilities can also make 

a key contribution to preventing vandalism by positively 

influencing the behaviour of users.

installed in the sanitary facilities of Tank & Rast service 

centres (Sanifair) 

Regulations: 

• Requirements of Autobahn Tank & Rast GmbH & Co. KG 

(Sanifair guarantee) 

Wash basin fittings must not be hand-operable in the 

following areas: 

In meat-processing companies. 


• Companies in which health problems affecting intracommunity 

trade in meat products may arise (EEC 

Directive), such as in: 

abattoirs, meat cutting and processing companies, meat 

departments with fresh meat, butchers shops, meatprocessing 

industry. 

Companies shall afford an adequate number of facilities 

with hot and cold running water, or water pre-mixed to a 

suitable temperature, for cleaning and disinfecting hands. 

In work rooms and lavatories, taps must not be handoperable. 

• All companies subject to the hygiene requirements 

governing trade in meat products. (regulation on meat 

hygiene). 

Cleaning facilities must be installed as close as possible 

to the workplace and in sufficient numbers, with taps 

which must not be hand-operable. 

Lavatories must be provided with facilities for washing 

hands, with taps which must not be hand-operable.

In milk-processing companies. 


• Companies for the production and marketing of raw milk,

Dairies, collection centres, processing plants for dairy

Milk processing rooms shall have an adequate number of 

facilities with hot and cold running water, or water premixed 

to a suitable temperature, for cleaning and 

disinfecting hands. In work rooms and lavatories taps 

must not be hand-operable.

• In business operations and parts thereof in which people 

are to be examined, treated or nursed as inpatients, in 

which people are medically examined or treated as 

outpatients, in which body tissue, fluids and secretions of 

people or animals are analysed or in which work is 

carried out on pathogenic germs. Also wherever 

infectious or potentially infectious objects and substances 

are disinfected or where animals undergo veterinary 

examination or treatment, such as in: 

hospitals, medical laboratories, doctors' surgeries, 

therapeutic surgeries, dissecting rooms, specialist 

surgeries, emergency rescue and ambulance vehicles, 

operating theatres. 

In working areas with increased risk of infection, water 

taps which can be operated without hand contact must 

be installed at the hand-wash basins for use by the 

personnel.

Touch-free fittings –

Infrared electronics allow for touch-free operation - the 

water flow is started and stopped automatically, without 

touching the fitting. This is highly comfortable for the user

additional functions such as automatic flushing and

Self-closing fittings – 

Save water and ensure hygiene. 

While self-closing fittings are activated manually to start 

the flow of water to basin or shower, everything else is 

fully automatic and touch-free. After a pre-set time the 

fitting closes automatically. 

Automatical and touch-free 

The result is a high level of hygiene and operational 

economy. The construction and selection of materials of 

GROHE self-closing fittings ensures a very durable and 

attractive design. 

Whether you are looking for a top of the range model or a 

budget-priced version, GROHE that a complete range of 

classical self-closing fittings to choose from - Contromix, 

Controecon and Contropress will meet every need. 

The Eurodisc SE is the premium model of this product 

range, offering electronically controlled runtime setting and 

the possibility to program automatic flushings. 

Thermostats/thermostatic mixers – 

Adjust temperature, protect from scalding. 

Skin - especially in children and older people - is 

extremely sensitive to hot water. In order to protect 

users of public facilities from hazardous hot water 

temperatures, often more than 65°C -, the water 

temperature has to be maintained at the set temperature 

by means of thermostats. 

GROHE thermocouples using thermal expansion 

materials reliably protect from scalding by instantly 

compensating for changing conditions. A comfortable 

water temperature is maintained and any fluctuations in 

pressure are not noticed by the user. Should the supply 

of cold water to the fitting fail, the hot water is also shut 

off immediately. 

Thermal disinfection permits effective health protection. 

You can choose between thermostats for large 

installations, individual thermostats for special facilities 

and micro-thermostats (Grohtherm) for under-basin 

installation, which ensure effective protection from 

scalding.

The optional remote control (36 206 000) can activate an automatic flushing mode (in 1-day or 3-day intervals), effectively 

prevents stagnating water and the formation of legionellae when the fitting is not used for an extended period of time

Europlus E also makes it easy to ensure perfect hygiene; touchless operation prevents the proliferation of bacteria and 

viruses while offering unsurpassed user comfort.

environments. The products offer several advantage to the specifier user and facilites

Eurodisc SE 

Superior technology 

for improved durability. 

Eurodisc SE is a self-closing fitting featuring superior technology - for users demanding high performance. Electronic runtime 

adjustment ensures constant flow times (adjustable between 2 seconds - 30 minutes). In addition, Eurodisc SE is the 

first self-closing fitting permitting automatic flushing in three-day intervals. This function prevents stagnating water and 

allows for thermal disinfection of the pipes and fitting (by dispensing water with a temperature of at least 70° C for three 

minutes) 

Flow time and thermal disinfection are conveniently set by means of tip codes* - without any tools; a re-adjustment of 

thermostat models is not required.

Eurodisc SE promotes hygiene. Users touch the fitting once before washing your hands and because its shape makes it 

very easy to clean. 

It features an automatic start/stop function and a manual override facility - stopping the flow before the pre-set time 

has elapsed. This feature combined with the cascade aerator, which limits the flow rate to 6 litres per minute, makes 

the Eurodisc SE energy efficient and economical.

Legionella: no problem. 

Plant operators who impose high demands on product 

performance, plumbing engineers who appreciate a 

fitting with easy installation and convenient, 

advantageous adjustment, and users who must rely on 

safety particularly where healthcare is concerned 

(avoidance of Legionella bacteria) can all place their full 

confidence in Eurodisc SE. 

Added safety: 

Water consumption 

• The fitting closes automatically after the maximum 

flow time of 60 seconds, even if its top has been 

tampered with and blocked. When battery voltage 

gets too low, water is also shut off automatically. 

Protection against scalding 

• In models which offer water temperature regulation, 

the maximum water temperature is limited by a hot 

water limit stop. Shower fittings are additionally 

equipped with a thermostat that limits the maximum 

temperature of water to between 35° C and 45° C. 

Battery change 

• A pulsating jet of water indicates that the battery 

needs to be changed soon. 

Additional areas of application. 

Eurodisc SE can also be used in combination with 

pressure tanks as well as thermally and hydraulically 

controlled water heaters of sufficient capacity (cannot 

be used in combination with unpressurised tanks).

Environmentally friendly and cost-effective. 

Beautifully shaped, self-closing fittings for basin and shower - Contromix Public offers a smart double stop facility: When 

you press the top, the water starts to run for a pre-set time between 5 and 40 seconds. If you have finished washing your 

hands or showering before the pre-set time, you can stop the flow of water by pressing the top again. Responsible users 

will see the environmental benefits of making use of this facility. The ergonomic design of the top emphasises how it 

should be operated. 

The nubbed outer ring of the top permits safe setting of the temperature even with soapy hands.

GROHE thermostats for basin and shower instantly compensate for variations in water 

temperature and pressure. In the most extreme case, i.e. should the supply of cold 

water fail, the hot water shuts off automatically to prevent scalding. Protection from scalding 

is particularly important where the water is temporarily heated to very high temperatures 

in order to ensure perfectly hygienic water - e.g. in order to prevent the formation of

Grohtherm XL 

for up to 14 showers. 

With a flow rate of between 9 and 140 litres per minute, Grohtherm XL is the ideal solution for group showers and basins. 

If the water is blended centrally, a thermocouple using thermal expansion materials ensures the water temperature 

remains constant irrespective of any variations in water pressure or flow rate. 

Water temperature can be set by means of the ergonomically shaped scale handle or concealed controls which can only 

be re-set using a special key. The maximum water temperature can be pre-set to between 33° C and 43° C. Its clear lines 

and smooth surfaces make this fitting particularly easy to clean. 

Grohtherm XL is available for wall-mounted (DN 25, DN 32) and concealed (DN 25) installation.

Grohtherm Micro offers excellent protection from scalding and suits the needs of plumbers and property managers alike. 

Easy to install or retrofit, this safe and efficient micro-thermostat can be combined with any single-hole mixer. Its small 

dimensions permit installation under a basin. 

Thermostat ensures maximum safety. 

Single-lever mixers, self-closing valves or electronic 

fittings are used for basins in public and contract 

environments. However, variations in pressure or 

failure of the cold water supply may result in an 

undesirable and even hazardous temporary increase in 

the temperature of mixed water. 

Grohtherm Micro solves this problem by reliably 

limiting the maximum water temperature. Users are 

effectively protected against scalding by hot water 

which can exceed 60° C. 

This permits easy compliance with hospital regulations 

and industrial safety standards as well as accident 

prevention rules.

Unbeatable in medical specification.

• Thermal disinfection is very simple: After overriding the safety stop (which can be set between 35° C and 45° C) using a 

simple tool, it can be thermally disinfected - without having to re-adjust the thermostat after disinfection..

Rapid SL 

Prefabricated for a precise fit. 

Ready-to-tile cladding. 

Rapid SL claddings are ready-to-tile gypsum fibre boards for interior installation. They are delivered to match the different 

elements - equipped with all required cuts for fitting, fixing, inlets and outlets. This precisely-cut prefabrication offers 

security as well as easier and more rapid installation. The 12.5 mm-thick claddings are vapor-porous, noise-dampening 

and water-resistant. They meet the fire protection requirements outlined in DIN 4102 "Behaviour in fire of construction 

materials and components" and have been classified Construction Materials Class A 2 (not flammable).

Concealed flushing cistern and flush valve. Concealed installation: always an elegant solution. 

The technology disappears behind the wall, while there on the smooth, low-maintenance tile surface, the elegant form of 

the actuation plate harmonises with overall bathroom decor. The attractive visuals and easy cleaning of the wall and the 

floor under the wall-hung WC are compelling arguments for the concealed installation solution. 

Only the actuation remains visible with concealed 

installation. This option is directed at the widest variety of 

utilisation purposes and extends from conventional 

manual actuation by panel or push button all the way to 

electronic actuations, e.g. as a solution for the disabled. 

Surf and Skate 

These cover plates with their elegant shapes are mounted 

primarily for pressure actuation. The Skate plate in the 

stainless steel model recommends itself particularly for 

the public sector. 

A small example illustrates the wide variety of actuations: 

An infra-red electronic actuator can for example be set up 

in hygienic areas or to serve the disabled. Radio 

electronics would however be even more ideal for the 

disabled. A push button actuator could also be mounted 

as an alternative.

Exposed installation flushing cisterns and Rondo A.S. exposed installation flush valve. 

No question about it: exposed installation solutions can also have an attractive appearance. The WC flush valve is a small, 

compact fitting which - as is the case with the Rondo A.S. - can certainly have an attractive appearance. The flushing 

cistern - placed directly above the stand WC - forms practically a unit with the bowl. It is particularly the case with 

modernisations that the only option is to replace old exposed installation fixtures with new solutions for exposed 

installation. 

Flushing cisterns release a great deal of water in a brief 

time period in order to be able to provide a powerful flush. 

After being used, however, they fill up again rapidly. One 

can select between two water-saving technologies from 

GROHE: 

Ecolux with dual flush. 

Ecolux flushes with 2 clearly-defined flushing volumes: either 

with 9 ltr for full flush or 4.5 ltr for short flush; or - with 6 ltr 

setting - with 6 ltr for full flush or 3.0 ltr for short flush. 

Dallux with start/stop button. 

With Dallux, you first use the actuation to call up the full 

flushing volume. But then you can interrupt the flushing 

procedure before it is finished with a second actuation. 

Dallux exists in many variants - even for behind-the-wall 

installation with pneumatic remote 

control. 

Both flushing cisterns are equipped 

with a filling valve which fills quickly 

(6 l/27 sec., 9 l/40 sec.) and quietly 

(fitting group I) and which is 

adjustable to all flushing cisterns. 

At all times ready to flush, with a very forceful 

flushing action. 

Exposed flush valves. 

WC flush valve Rondo A.S. 

Flush valves have many strong points: they are small, 

compact and robust; they are always ready to flush and 

are thrifty in their operation. Above all, they work with a 

very forceful flushing action - with prime values for the 

flushing itself, for reaching the edges and cleaning the 

WC bowl as they flush and for keeping the outlet pipe 

clean. And top models such as the Rondo A.S. operate 

quietly (best Fitting Group I). 

The lean, formally elegant Rondo A.S. can also be 

obtained with the advantageous integrated preliminary 

block.


Concealed flushing cistern 

for Rapid SL and Uniset. 

Quick connection, small actuation plates. 

Rapid installation and universal connections are characteristic of this concealed flushing cistern. 

The recess at the back of the cover for connection from the rear, as well as the other three possible 

connections from the top, left or right, and the water connection which can be installed most conveniently 

without requiring tools - this cistern leaves absolutely nothing to be desired by the plumber. 

Add to this the more attractive small cover plate, the security of a flushing cistern with a capacity of 6 - 9 litres 

and the optimum pneumatic actuation with its easy installation. All in all: considerable added value for both the 

plumber and the user.

Energy consumption is kept at very low levels through

Radar electronic.

The radar electronic detects movements in front of the 

urinal and evaluates them for the flushing procedure. User 

registration takes place by means of a detector which is 

invisibly mounted behind the urinal bowl: 

• in case of conventional installation behind the bowl 

• If mounted with Rapid SL, the radar is positioned behind 

the wall, above the basin. This means that any urinal 

basin can be used. 

Because the solenoid valve and the control unit are both 

mounted in the wall the entire installation remains 

invisible in the wall of tiles - which secures it against most 

vandalism. An external installation of these components is 

possible. For the radar electronic also settings can be 

made with the remote control unit 36 206 000. The 

cleaning of these urinal units is unproblematic due to the 

smooth, uninterrupted tile surface. 

Urinal flush valves

Manually-actuated urinal installations are to be 

recommended, e.g. in the private sector, in commercial 

toilet installations with a more or less unchanging user 

public. 

The manually-actuated concealed urinal flusher is finished

A quiet-running technology is concealed behind the cover

Rapid SL can be installed in lightweight studded wall partitions made of metal 

to DIN 18183 or the wall can be constructed in accordance with the working

Accurately fitting element feet for UW-50 and UW-75 profiles ensure that the 

elements are easily positioned on the front edge of the studded wall partition. 

They are secured at the sides to metal studded wall partitions with selftapping 

screws. Timber uprights - min. dimensions 80 x 48 mm - are required 

for installation in wooden studded wall partitions. The elements are secured 

with four wood screws in wooden studded wall partitions.

Rapid SL can be installed on all finished or 

unfinished load-bearing floors. 

The maximum range for adjustment equals 200 mm. 

Fixing equipment fixtures. 

Equipment fixtures can easily be fixed to tiled gypsum 

plaster board walls. Light and medium loads, such as 

towel holders, toilet roll holders, mirror cabinets, etc. 

can be secured directly to the wall using the standard 

fixing material (KS universal dowels) or with metal 

cavity dowels.

protection. 

Under practice-oriented conditions, the Fraunhofer Institut für Bauphysik has carried out noise measurements with 

Rapid SL and Uniset. The outstanding test results for all of the products fulfil the requirements of DIN 4109 and very 

nearly completely all of the requirements of DIN 4109-10. 

• Increased noise protection requirements of 27 dB(A) 

• comfort noise protection level requirements of 24 dB(A) 

have been established in this section which deviate from standard noise protection levels of 30 dB(A).

Regulations in the public and commercial sector. 

• Room for movement and furnishings for barrier-free living have 

been formulated in DIN 18025. 

• DIN 1988 prescribes the installation of a faucet valve for cleaning 

the WC stalls. 

• DIN 1986 requires in addition a floor drain 

• DIN 4109 requires builders to install effective noise protection 

measures. 

• VDE Guideline 2078 demands that rooms have good illumination. 

• VDE Guideline 0100 requires adherence to safety clearances for 

electrical connections. 

Pipe-in-pipe system for WC flush valves 

Double connector boxes are used for connecting exposed installation 

fittings. Double fitting connections are available with concealed 

fittings. Feeding line dimensions 16 x 2.2 mm or 20 x 2.8 mm. 

Enhance the quality of living with noise protection. 

You can improve the quality of living in both older and more recent 

buildings by concentrating thoroughly on noise protection. In order 

to comply with the noise protection requirements contained in 

DIN 4109, we recommend that you do the following: 

1. Design favourable floor plans. 

2. Take care to ensure that installation walls leading to the living 

rooms, bedrooms and workrooms in other apartments exhibit a 

minimum weight of 220 kg/m 2 . 

3. Lay pipelines in a manner compatible with noise protection 

measures. 

4. Install only those products which have noise protection 

certification (e.g. Fraunhofer Institut für Bauphysik) on or in walls 

with surface weights less than 220 kg/m 2 . 

5. Take advantage of the possibilities of noise protection for on-thewall 

installation. 

The inlet and outlet lines are laid without any contact between 

element and masonry with on-the-wall installation with Rapid SL. 

The advantage: There is no structure-borne sound. Elaborate pipe 

insulation efforts are thus not necessary. In cases of on-the-wall 

installation in wet conditions, Uniset offers optimum noise 

protection by wrapping sources of structural sound with an 

insulation made of EPS. The pipelines must be completely clad in 

material for deadening structural sound.
