Direkt aus dem Bayerischen Voralpenland kommt das Trinkwasser für die bayerische Hauptstadt
320 Millionen Liter Wasser fließen täglich in die Isar-
Metropole - so hoch ist der Verbrauch der rund 1,3
Millionen starken Bevölkerung. München hat eines der
besten Trinkwasser Europas. Das Trinkwasser hat so
gute Analysewerte, dass es sogar für die Zubereitung
von Säuglingsnahrung geeignet ist. Professor Max
von Pettenkofer legte bereits vor 125 Jahren
den Grundstein für die heutige
Münchner Trinkwasserversorgung.
Er veranlasste, dass der
Grundwasserschatz mit 1A-
Güte aus dem Voralpenland nach
München geleitet wird. Durch
eine Druckrohrleitung kommt
heute Münchens Trinkwasser
320 million litres of water flow daily into the Isar metropolis

one of the cleanest drinking water in Europe. It’s
laboratory values are that much clean that it‘s suitable
even for the preparation of baby food. 125 years ago
Professor Max von Pettenkofer laid the foundation
for nowadays drinking water supply. He prompted
to route this first class groundwater treasure from
the „Voralpenland“ to the capital. Munich‘s drinking
water is delivered through a huge pressure pipeline
to its households. It is an architectural masterpiece
below the earth, 30 kilometers long and rightly a
century project from the Münchner Stadtwerke –
