A river paradise in<br />

Paris has the Seine, London the Thames and Vienna has<br />
the Donau. And what about Munich, the cosmopolitan city<br />
with heart? There is the Isar! The river is the lifeline and<br />
bath tub of the Bavarian metropolis; his meadows and<br />
shores are a greenbelt recreation area, energy filling station,<br />
nature‘s jewel and soft places in one. The Isar, which<br />
arises in the Karwendelgebirge, styled itself well in this<br />
year in particular and presents itself in its most beautiful<br />
dress - thanks to the concluded renaturation arrangements<br />
between the area of Großhesselohe and the German Museum.<br />
In former times described as a „wild lady“, the river<br />
was tied in a corset of cement after a devastating flood<br />
in 1899 to protect the heart of Munich in the future. This<br />
