reshaping pier 01
THE CONCEPT
Rigid to fluid - Maximizing public accessibility
The site is currently the main port in Aqaba, and it is directly related to formalities
and logistics, the image of the site was formed as a serious prohibited site.
The concept is to reshape the idea of the site through reshaping the site itself, using
the physical characteristics of sea and water, sun and light,
introducing new spaces and elements attached to non-formalities and
entertainment.
PROJECT DISCRIPTION
second year
2015
The excercise was to design an
academy for the arts and crafts majors
in Amman, the site was also in the
Jabal Amman area, theprogram should
include multiple workshops, for wood
metal and other types of crafts, Studios,
exhibitions and Administration.
Revit 2016
Photoshop CC
ARTS ACADEMY
THE CONCEPT
On the east and west side of the site, there was two streets, the one on the west had yearly events which made it a known
street, on the other side, the eastern street was abandoned and dead, I wanted to both streets through my project which
might create an opportunity to
bring back the life to the street.
Also, I wanted to optimize the use
of the view and minimize the cut
and fill chances, by building on
mulitiple levels and creating an
courtyard.
create a enclosure by building walls
around the site.
accomodate the targeted
audience.
optimize the inner space as
a public park.
create entrances at multiple
vivid nodes in the area.
cut the walls to create significant
entrances.
adapt to the context by lowering the northern side to maximize view and lefting the
southern side to create shade
PROJECT DISCRIPTION
third year
2016
Using the ruled surfaces method, we
had to design a pavilion that would be
inspired by an artist, this artist›s work
should be featured in the nationa
RULED SURFACES
THE CONCEPT
In geometry, a surface S is ruled (also called a scroll) if through every point of S there is a straight
line that lies on S. The most familiar examples (illustrated here in three-dimensional Euclidean
space) are the plane and the curved surface of a cylinder or cone. Other examples are a conical
surface with elliptical directrix, the right conoid, the helicoid, and the tangent developable
of a smooth curve in space. A ruled surface can always be described (at least locally) as the
set of points swept by a moving
straight line. For example, a cone
is formed by keeping one point
of a line fixed whilst moving
another point along a circle.
In this project we are to use one
type of the ruled surfaces, in
which the swept line, is meerly
Ahmad Osnii Pei, a visual
artist from Indonesia,
something special and
appealing about Ahmad`s
sculptures,
it is the unity and wholeness
that comes through so well.
"this intellectual sculptor
produces pieces which
challenge paintings
on canvas, with their
nonfigurative forms
symbolizing unity, joined in harmony with the idea of wholeness, a concept of gestalt"
Looking at one of Ahmad`s sculptures that was displayed in The Jordan National Gallery of fine Arts,
in the opposit location as the
original location.
Polanoor, It made me realize soothing and eye appealing his curves are, so i decided to use the way he draws line and creates
them to portray his style in this pavilion.
30
And reacting to the site, it had to be adapting to the parameters of the location.
Visiting the site, the first to catch my eye, was the Bell tower of the Orthodox Church and the minaret of the Kind Abdullah I
Mosque.
And I had to frame those two great elements, that introduce the coexistence of religions in Jordan.

AQABA RESORT AND
WELLNESS CENTER
THE CONCEPT
The sun can be the ultimate healing element and a great
architectural parameter.
arrange the
administration functions
along a big wall to
divide the two zones
giving more privacy, and
creating shade for the
public beach.
define the site boundaries.
bend the wall along with
the sun path to optimize
the largest availbe
amount of sun light at the
area of the resort.
since we are building on
a beachwhich used to be
public,
the site should be
divided to keep fullfilling
the public needs, the
southern side will be
the site of the resort to
maximize the use of sun
light.
extending lines from the
large wall to create the
guest rooms, unifying
form and maxmizing sun
use in the whole area of
the resort.
after dividing the site,
the public area will be
landscaped to inrich the
area with greenery, the
functions of the resort will
be placed on the southern
side with the pools and
the outdoors area.
