Ynw Melly – mama cry treatment 1

YNW MELLY – MAMA CRY
TREATMENT BY: ALPHAMALE VISUALS
“Mama cry” is dark, gritty, cinematic drama that throws
viewers in middle of an intense story and gives detail by detail
to unfold the big picture as the video progresses. The video
will mainly follow a central storyline with heavy b-roll and very
few performance scenes sprinkled throughout.

• The video opens with a wide shot of
YNW Melly standing in a street with an
elongated shadow over a lifeless body.
Melly nonchalantly take a sigh of
relief, lights a blunt, enjoying the nice
breeze and begins to calmly walk away
as the body struggles to breathe his
last breaths. Smoking and casually
walking, Melly pulls out a bloody
wallet and begins sifting through it's
contents and counting the money that
was in it.
• Cut back to inside a home. A frantic
and stressed out mother impatiently
looks out the window. She paces
around the house, calls close
relatives, palms are sweaty, beating
on things around the house in
frustration. She’s looking & waiting.
She’s told her son several times to be
home by midnight, she checks her
watch…3am.

• Closeup of Melly riding in the middle
seats of a van in slow motion. His
demeanor is non-chalant, he casually
looks out the window as the street
lights pass over his face. The camera
slowly zooms out to see the full scene
inside the van. His homies are around
him yelling and hyping each other up,
talking sh*t, suspiciously looking out
the windows with mal-intent as they
ride. Melly is deep in thought.
Flashback ….
• Melly and his homies are playing
dominoes outside his crib at night,
smoking, drinking, having a good
time. In slowmotion, and 3 opps try to
ambush their party with gunfire,
yelling, screaming and shooting. They
miss as Melly hides behind a car.
Melly & homies look at each other
with vengeance in their eyes.

• Cut back to present. The van stops,
Melly and the homies jump out the
van in slow mo running forward and
raising guns. Camera cuts to see
opp #2 being caught slippin with his
girl, his face slowly turns white as he
realizes what's about to
happen...REVENGE.
• Right before shots ring out, camera
cuts back to another home, where
another Mom, Mother #2, pacing
around the house, crying and
worried, looking out the window and
making calls. Her skin complexion
matches that of opp #2. Cut to a
scene of opp #2 laying lifeless in the
street.

• Opp#3 walks quickly down the
sidewalk looking over his shoulder at
3 dark hooded figures that seem to be
following him. Opp#3 quickly turns the
corner down a dark alley, the hooded
figures are revealed to be Melly &
homies as they follow him down the
alley. Turning the corner they see that
he's vanished! SUDDENLY, the place
is surrounded by cop lights as several
cops advance towards them with guns
drawn, it was a setup! They surrender
with hands up.
• Cut to Mother #3 at home. Frantic and
crying, looking for her son out the
window. It's Melly's mom. Finally her
phone rings. She desperately runs to
the phone and is relieved to here
Melly's voice. Her face of relief slowly
turns to shock as she hears what
Melly has to say.

• Melly is on the phone calling her from
jail in an orange suit. BRoll shots show
the hardships Melly endures in jail:
standing motionless under a cold
shower, lying in his bunk bed staring
at the ceiling, staring at cold food on
his table, inspecting a fence of barbed
wire. Melly recalls the events that got
him stuck here in the first place. He
rolls over and scratches another mark
into the calender carved in his wall.
END
• Throughout the video will show
several closeup broll shots of symbols
in the plot that will all make sense at
the end. Cold food. Running water.
Barbed wire. Window Blinds. Street
lights. Puddle of blood etc.
