Do you have a good idea for an exhibition or know artists looking for a
venue? If so, we want to hear from you! MAC is now inviting exhibition
applications from visual artists and curators for consideration in our 2018
exhibitions program. We encourage applications from emerging, mid-
≠career and established artists from across all disciplines and visual art
forms, as well as curatorial proposals.

of our gallery spaces at Mundaring Arts Centre you can apply using the

Belconnen Arts Centre
Belconnen Arts Centre Artist in Residence Program
Belconnen Arts Centre is developing its seasonal Artists in Residence
program and is offering assistance to local artists, writers, performers, new
media collaborators and other creative professionals looking to use studio,
performance and exhibition space for development and presentation
of new work. As part of this program, the Centre can offer significant
discounts on the hire of space, mentoring and professional development,
plus support through profiling and marketing.
The aim of the Artist in Residence program is to encourage practising
individual artists, writers and performers or small groups to develop a work
or series of works within the Arts Centreís available studios and workshops
and to then have the opportunity to present or exhibit that work. Available
spaces include the Dance Studio during school holidays and the Creative
Workshops, suitable for creation of larger work and or group work, and
writing, multimedia and some performance development work.

Regional Arts Fund
The Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund program supports
sustainable cultural development in regional and remote Australia. The
Regional Arts Fund is managed in Victoria by Regional Arts Victoria and is
delivered in two main categories, Community Grants and Quick Response
Grants.
Quick Response Grants
Quick Response grants of up to $1500 for individuals and $3,000 for
organisations are available throughout the year.

About the Rattle Poetry Prize
The annual Rattle Poetry Prize offers $10,000 for a single
poem to be published in the winter issue of the magazine.
Ten finalists will also receive $200 each and publication,
and be eligible for the $2,000 Readers’ Choice Award, to be
selected by subscriber and entrant vote.
Additional poems from the entries are frequently offered
publication as well. In 2017 we published 20 poems that had
been submitted to the contest from just over 4,000 entries.
With the winners judged in an anonymous review by the
editors to ensure a fair and consistent selection, an entry fee
that is simply a one-year subscription to the magazine - and
a large Readers’ Choice Award to be chosen by the writers
themselves - we’ve designed the Rattle Poetry Prize to be
one of the most inspiring contests around.
Past winners have included a retired teacher, a lawyer, and
several students. It’s fair, it’s friendly, and you win a print
subscription to Rattle even if you don’t win.
