The culmination of decades of track lighting knowledge 

ProSpec Track combines Ligholier’s nearly 50 years of track lighting knowledge with the best ideas of top lighting designers. It is this 

combination that has allowed ProSpec to set new standards in performance, flexibility, and durability. ProSpec’s hallmark is a 

consistently clean, unobtrusive look that blends easily into architectural environments and allows the true beauty of objects 

being lighted to stand out. Most importantly, every part of the ProSpec system has been carefully designed to achieve the highest

Some of ProSpec’s innovative features include the unique Tru-Lock TM cylinder aiming mechanism that allows cylinder adjustment to 

be positively locked in place with one lever; a track with 2 independent 20-amp circuits to provide increased installation and dimming 

capabilities; and a convenient “built-in” Media Cartridge that holds up to three accessories and can be easily removed without disturbing 

the aiming adjustment. No matter what the environment, ProSpec’s superior features give lighting designers the tools they need to

Superior Performance 

ProSpec’s Line Voltage Cylinders offer superior performance that’s 

ideal for demanding institutional spaces and other environments 

where high quality specification grade track lighting is required. 

Designed around PAR halogen lamps, Line Voltage Cylinders 

feature a Media Cartridge that is removed and installed with a 

simple twisting motion. The Media Cartridge accepts up to three 

accessories and allows exact placement to be maintained even 

when relamping. The cartridge also features a removable cross-blade 

louver. All ProSpec Line Voltage Cylinders accept the full range of 

ProSpec accessories* to achieve the exact effect desired.

Low Voltage Cylinders 

Precision Halogen Lighting 

Low Voltage Cylinders feature transformers that provide reliable 

operation and are easily dimmable using the appropriate Lightolier 

low voltage dimmers. The PAR36 Cylinder features a dual tap 

5.5/12v transformer. Each unit can be adjusted up to 90° vertically 

and 340° horizontally and quickly locked into place. The discreet 

Indicator Guide on the housing allows accurate angle setting. 

The PAR56 Stepped Cylinder features yoke mounting and a 

lamp that can be rotated from 0 to 180° and locked in place. 

The PAR36 Cylinder also features an adjustable lamp. All Low 

Voltage Cylinders include the unique ProSpec Media Cartridge 

for convenient mounting of accessories.*

Wall Washers 

Broad Washes of Light 

ProSpec Wall Washers blend easily into a variety of architectural 

environments. These units provide a highly uniform wall wash 

utilizing an asymmetrical spread lens and an anodized aluminum 

kick reflector. The kick reflector assembly holds one accessory* 

and can be removed from the front for relamping using a simple 

twisting motion. ProSpec’s Tru-Lock TM aiming mechanism allows 

easy adjustment and simultaneous locking of both horizontal and 

vertical positions. Full tension is maintained in order to hold aiming 

position even when the locking lever is released. The discreet 

Indicator Guide provides a convenient way to accurately set the 

vertical angle of the unit.

Line Voltage Rings 

Simplicity and Performance 

Line Voltage Rings feature a clean, minimal look that’s ideal for 

museums, lobbies and other institutional environments. Extremely 

versatile, they can be adjusted horizontally and vertically and 

then locked in place. The convenient Indicator Guide allows a 

series of fixtures to be accurately aimed and adjusted. Line Voltage 

Rings also include ProSpec’s Media Cartridge* so filters, louvers 

and screens can be added or removed without disturbing aiming 

adjustment. A Cross Blade Louver provides additional shielding 

and can be easily removed if necessary.

Director® 

Pan, Tilt, Dim at the touch of a button 

Director brings new flexibility to track lighting. Director is a remote- 

controlled spotlight that can be mounted anywhere along the track 

and remotely aimed and dimmed through the use of a hand-held 

controller. Developed for applications where there is a need to 

redirect spotlights frequently, it is ideal for museums and galleries, 

banquet halls, retail, and restaurants. 

Designed to work with ProSpec Track, Director is easily installed 

and even easier to operate. A simple hand-held controller allows 

the user to first select the unit with a laser then aim it and set 

light levels using infrared signals. Additionally, positions and light 

levels can be recorded for future use and grouped together in 

sequence to create continuous movement. With the power and 

simplicity of Director, you can put the light exactly where you want 

it with the touch of a button.

Low Voltage 

The Low Voltage Director is available for use with MR16, AR111 or PAR36 lamps. 

It enables quick adjustment of the lighting in banquet halls, galleries and other spaces 

that are frequently reconfigured. 

• Full remote control of the rotate and tilt movement to aim at any object below the light. 

• Lamp brightness can be adjusted in 1% increments. 

• Color filters and lens accessories available (See Accessories pp.24-25). 

• Can be mounted on track or monopoint.

Atom* 

Addressable Track System 

ATOM offers lighting designers a number of important features 

that enhance the lighting in both public and private museum and 

gallery spaces. 

By allowing sequential lighting on a single circuit of Track, visual 

“tours” of a space can be easily programmed, creating a more 

powerful museum experience for visitors. ATOM also allows 

complete programmable lighting scenes by grouping fixtures on 

the same circuit or separate circuits of Track. This permits each 

museum and gallery exhibit to enjoy a singular lighting design at 

a very reasonable cost. 

ATOM also allows lighting to be quickly adapted to changing 

exhibitions and assists in compensating for day lighting transition 

problems in the museum environment. Utilizing the capabilities of 

ATOM, museums and galleries have a potent new tool to enhance

ProSpec 

Surface Mounted Track 

ProSpec Track is designed to be used exclusively with ProSpec 

lighting instruments. It is available in 4’, 8’ or 12’ sections in either 

Plain or Feed units. The track is crafted of extruded aluminum 

and joins together with a nearly invisible seam for a continuous 

appearance. Tracks can be fed directly at the end or anywhere 

along its surface. ProSpec Track can be mounted directly to a 

surface or with a choice of standard Direct Mounting Clips or 

optional Stand-Off Mounting Clips which lower the track from 

the ceiling by 3/8 of an inch and provide a neat appearance on 

uneven surfaces. A full line of ProSpec connectors makes it easy 

to achieve the exact pattern desired during installation. 


• A two circuit track consisting of two separate 120v 60Hz 20 amp branch circuits, 

each with dedicated neutrals. 

• Track is continuously grounded throughout but need not be polarized since the 

circuits are arranged symmetrically within the track. 

• Flush Adapters can be inserted in any orientation to access the circuit desired. 

Position of lever allows easy identification of circuit being used. 

• Power is fed into Integral Feed wiring connector contained in the Feed Track. 

• Track Connectors are extruded aluminum housings with the same profile as the 

track to provide a clean continuous look. All connectors can be power fed. 

• All track sections may be field cut to length. 

• Aluminum track has a profile of 1 3 /16” with an average wall thickness of .08” 

creating a strong support for fixtures while minimizing deflections between 

ceiling mounts.

Installing ProSpec Track 

Direct Mounting Clips allow a clean appearance by spacing the track 1/16 

of an inch from the mounting surface. Standard with all track units, they are 

nylon-coated to prevent rusting and ceiling marks. Toggle bolts and screws 

are also furnished with all units for direct mounting to the ceiling or wall. 

Optional Stand-Off Mounting Clips provide rigid support and hold the 

track 3/8 of an inch from the mounting surface. The clips feature one-screw 

mounting/one-screw tightening. The track snaps onto the clips and can be 

moved into position before tightening the locking screws. 

Straight Runs of Track 

Begin with any length of Feed Track and add as many Plain sections as 

desired. The concealed Invisible Coupler (ordered separately) connects 

track sections mechanically and electrically. Replace the Invisible Coupler 

with In-Line Connector for power feed-in between track units. ProSpec 

Track may be cut in the field. 

Making Track Patterns 

Use “L”, “T”, “X”, and In-Line Connectors to turn corners or form “T” or “X” 

intersections. Power may be fed into the connectors. Jumper wires are 

provided for power continuity. Use Plain Track for each straight run of track 

between connectors. Connectors may be attached to track that has been cut. 

Stem Mounting 

ProSpec Track can be suspended from horizontal surfaces or sloped surfaces 

using ProSpec Stems. The stems can be cut to any length to achieve the 

exact height desired. The minimum length obtainable from the ceiling is 3 

inches. Stems should not be spaced more than 4 feet apart. Swivel Stem 

Mounting Kits are available to allow the track to hang vertically with the 

track opening horizontal to the floor. This is possible if the track is running 

parallel to the slope or perpendicular to the slope. 

Direct Feed into Connectors 

The Feed Track, Power Extension, “L”, “T”, “X” and In-Line Connectors 

contain a nut with a 1/2 -14 thread to accept a 3/8” (trade size) electrical 

connector. Does not require a separate power feed kit. 

Floating Invisible Feed 

This can be mounted anywhere along the track at a maximum distance of 

4 feet from the edge of track. The Floating Invisible Feed accepts conduit 

or cable with 3/8” electrical connector (by others). It can be used with Feed 

Track, “L”, “T”, “X”, and In-Line Connectors.

Surface Mount Track Connectors 

Selection, Flexibility, Performance 

ProSpec Surface Mount Track features a broad variety of connectors 

and accessories specifically designed for the demands of the museum 

lighting. For wiring and layout flexibility the track may be powered 

through a Live End, In-Line Connector, or a choice of “L”, “T”, or “X” 

connectors. A selection of Canopy Kits allows installation through 

junction boxes, while the Floating Invisible Feed provides the cleanest 

installation. Stem Mounting Kits and Grid Ceiling Mounting Clips 

are also available to service a range of ceiling/mounting conditions. 

A Lytespan to ProSpec Adapter allows hundreds of Lightolier’s 

popular Lytespan track luminaires to be used on ProSpec Track.

ProSpec 

Recessed Track 

When an exceptionally clean look at the ceiling is desired, ProSpec’s 

Recessed Track is the preferred choice. These flanged housings 

with integral track are available in 4’, 8’ and 12’ sections for a 

simplified, all-in-one installation. Recessed Track is available in 

either Feed or Plain units. The housing has minimum-width trim 

flange ideal for all ceiling materials and can be field-cut to length. 

ProSpec Recessed Track is designed to be recessed in dry 

ceiling applications only, such as sheet rock ceilings or suspended 

acoustic ceilings. 


• A two circuit recessed track consisting of two separate 120v 20 amp 60Hz 

branch circuits. Each circuit has dedicated neutral. 

• Track is continuously grounded throughout. 


Lever identifies which circuit is being used and is easily observed from floor. 

• Material: aluminum with an average wall thickness of .08” creating a strong 

support for fixtures while minimizing deflections between ceiling mounts.

Installing ProSpec Recessed Track 

• Power is fed into Integral Feed contained in the Feed Track. 

• Recessed Track can also be fed from a Floating Splice Box installed at the end of or between housings (order separately). 

• Order one Feed Recessed Track unit and as many Plain Recessed Track units as required for each straight run of track between intercepts. 

• Patterns can be constructed using the recessed “L”, “T”, “X” power extensions or In-Line Connectors. 

• Power can be fed into Recessed “L”, “T”, “X” or In-Line Connectors. 

• Invisible Coupler is used to join straight tracks mechanically and electrically. 

• All connectors are extruded aluminum housings with the same profile as the recessed track to provide a clean continuous look.

ProSpec 

Full Ceiling Integration 

ProSpec Recessed Flangeless Track provides full integration of the 

track system into the ceiling for the cleanest possible appearance. 

The housings with integral track are available in 4’, 8’ and 12’ 

sections and feature a mounting flange that is completely 

concealed by the finished ceiling. The track sections are available 

in Feed and Plain units and can be field-cut to length. ProSpec 

Recessed Flangeless Track is designed to be recessed in dry 

ceiling applications only, such as sheet rock or plaster ceilings. 


• A two circuit recessed track consisting of two separate 120v 20 amp 60Hz 

branch circuits. Each circuit has dedicated neutral.

• Track is continuously grounded throughout. 


Lever identifies which circuit is being used and is easily observed from floor. 

• Material: aluminum with an average wall thickness of .08” creating a strong 

support for fixtures while minimizing deflections between ceiling mounts.

Accessories 

Tint, Shape, and Diffuse light 

ProSpec’s full range of accessories allows the designer 

complete freedom to shape and tint the light beam of any fixture 

in the ProSpec line. Non-diffusing Color Filters and Specialty 

Filters are all created of rimless tempered glass. Diffusion Filters 

are designed to soften beam patterns without washing out light 

intensity. Perimeter Frost Filters softly diffuse the edge of the 

beam while maintaining center beam candlepower. Rimmed 

Stainless Steel Screens block light without changing source 

color temperature. UV Reduction Filters help prevent long-term 

damage such as discolorization of materials and structural 

damage such as embrittlement. Heat Filters are created of 

one-piece clear borosilicate glass and reduce infrared heat 

by 40% while still maintaining 83% transmission of visible 

light. Matte black Hex Cell and Cube Cell Louvers provide 

additional shielding and significantly reduce lamp glare. Up to 

3 ProSpec Color or Specialty Filters can be stacked inside the 

Media Cartridge.
