POWER
During the past 3 years Offshore Center
Danmark has been participating in the
POWER (Pushing Offshore Wind Energy
Regions) project. The project is supported
by the EU Interreg IIIB programme and
was completed mid 2007.
The POWER project team is made up of 37
organizations from 5 different countries.
Through the project, a joint approach to
push the development of offshore wind in
the North Sea region has been taken. Together,
the POWER countries form a strong
network currently holding 95% of all
installed offshore wind power in the world.
In total, the participating organizations are
estimated to represent 500 companies in
the POWER countries.
POWER pursues the following objectives:
• To unify offshore wind competence
regions around the North Sea
• To exchange experience and to learn
from each other
• To set up common strategies and real
business to business contacts overcoming
economic changes
• To respond to new educational needs

successes of POWER include the establishment
of a strong international offshore wind
industry and stakeholder network, a couple
