Boogooloos
New was the moon when the boogooloos crept,
From their hiding place,
Under Sue's bed.
They moved across the covers,
And up to the pillow,
To chew at the hair on Sue's head.
Sue knew they were there,
As they tugged on her hair,
But, what a surprise! she opened her eyes,
And they had vanished,
Right into thin air.
Then into the kitchen, they licked all the cupboards,
And poked at the basket of fruit,
They fooled in all rooms, threw shoes and rode brooms,
And then danced, to the tune of a flute.
When the wind gently blew,
They moved to the roof,
To moo as the moon turned bright blue.
Sue knew they would croon,
All night at the moon,
And she wondered just what she might do.
Then, a huge boogooloo,
Crept up to her bed,
Tapped on her eyelid and said,
'Well to tell you the truth, it may sound uncouth,
but we can't leave until we have a tooth.'
