• a small box of coins<br />
• a blindfold<br />

2. choose one person to be the gard. he/She<br />
should sit in the midle of the circle.<br />
3. Blindfold the guard <strong>and</strong> giv him/her the<br />
rolled-up newspaper. plase the box of coins in<br />
frunt of him/her.<br />
4. choose one person in the circle to tries to steal<br />
the box without being taped by the guards<br />
newspaper. if cort he/she must return to<br />
his/her place. If he/she succeed he/she<br />
becumes the new guard.<br />
1 Punctuation<br />
(a) Write the 4 missing capitals, 2 commas,<br />
1 apostrophe to show possession <strong>and</strong> 1<br />
colon for an offset list.<br />
A hyphen (-) is used in some words to<br />
connect smaller words; for example, ‘happygo-lucky’,<br />
‘self-pity’, ‘blue-black’.<br />
(b) The word ‘rolled-up’ in the text is<br />
hyphenated. Use a dictionary to find<br />
three more hyphenated words that<br />

2 Grammar<br />
In any sentence, the subject <strong>and</strong> the verb<br />
have to agree in person <strong>and</strong> in number; for<br />
example, ‘He sees’ but ‘They see’.<br />

their subjects. Write the correct form of<br />
each verb in the space at the end of the<br />
