TEACHER'S GUIDE<br />
This activity book is designed to develop pupil's literacy in the English language.<br />
The book follows a simple story for the pupil to follow. The interactive storytelling is<br />
integrated with fun activities for the pupils to improve their pre-writing skills. Each<br />
chapter provides colouring activities that encourage the pupil to develop their<br />
creativity. Each activity will allow the pupil to practice their fine motor skills.<br />
Pre-Writing Activities:<br />
The fine motor skills required in writing involve good hand-eye coordination. These<br />
skills can be developed through various pencil activities such as:<br />
• Scribbling: Drawing continuous lines of<br />
wavy and zigzag patterns.<br />
• <strong>Colour</strong>ing: Shading using different<br />
colours. Guide the pupils to colour<br />
horizontal, vertical and oblique lines or<br />
bars. The drawing of circles should be<br />
taught later. Ensure that pupils colour<br />
within the boundaries given.<br />
• Channeling: Requires drawing a<br />
line between two boundaries.<br />
• Tracing: Requires joining lines<br />
between adjacent points.<br />
• Copying: Involves writing or<br />
drawing the given letter or pattern.
