RIVET NUTS (OPEN END)<br />

The Rivet nut is a one-piece internally threaded and counterbored<br />

tubular aluminum rivet that can be pulled up or headed<br />

while working entirely from one side, forming a bulge or<br />

head on the blind side. This upset is large enough to resist<br />

being pulled through metal or plastic even under conditions<br />

of eccentric load. It over comes the difficulty of installing<br />

brackets, handles or other attachments to tubular pieces.<br />

PULL RIVETS<br />

Blind open end pull rivets are available<br />

in a variety of sizes, types, and materials<br />

to fit most any application. Simple three<br />

step riveting make quick work of most<br />

any fastening job. These open end rivets<br />

resemble conventional tubular rivets<br />

when set, but retain the mandrel within<br />

AVEX NON-STRUCTURAL BLIND RIVETS<br />

Avex non- structural blind rivets, with alu mi num body and steel stem,<br />

are similar to the Cherry BSP and BSC commercial rivets. We stock<br />

the standard dome head, 120° counter sunk head and the low-profile<br />

“Lo-Pro” dome head rivets in diameters up to 3/16”.<br />

RIVET/RIVET NUT<br />

BACK MARKERS<br />

Used to locate pre-drilled holes in the<br />

wing ribs, fuel tank covers, panels,<br />

skin. Pre-drill the ribs, screw in the<br />

back markers, lay the skin sheet over<br />

the top, tap with a hammer, turn the<br />

sheet over, and drill the holes. This<br />

is especially useful for rivnut installation.<br />

Due to the large size of the<br />

hole required, small errors in location<br />

can lead to the “Oh darn, I missed<br />

the rib syndrome”. Backmarkers can<br />

save you hours of frustration. Two<br />

sizes of threaded backmarkers are available. We recommend using the<br />

04-00131 for wing ribs. Drilling the wing ribs with a 3/32” drill. Drop in<br />

the back markers. Mark the skin by taping with a soft hammer. Turn the<br />

skin over and drill the skin with a 3/32” drill. Cleco the skin into position<br />

enlarge the holes with #30 drill & cleco. Now you are ready to rivet.<br />
