Bail for Shooting
Harry Weyond Sr., North Wildwood
tavern owner, Friday was
plrced under $2,000 boll for action
of the grand jury as the result of
an alleged shooting recently in a
row over the erection of a billboard
near his establishment.
The boll was set by Municipal
Judge Henry C. Lapldus, who at the
some time dismissed similar charges
against Weyand's son, Harry Jr., 16;
Kenneth Eystcr, 18, and Charles
Zerbe, 18, nil of whom were reported
property across the road from Weyami's
place.
Food Poisoning
Summer Danger
Doctori Advise Extra
Cleanliness, Care
Summertime—"when the living Is
cosy," as the song. proclaims—is a
time for the relaxation of schedules
and tensions. However, it is not the
time for the relaxation of caution or
of vigilance. Not enly must we be
on guard against foolhardy behavior
which leads to accidental injuries
and death, but we must be alert
against seasonal threats—not the
least of which is food poisoning.
The most frequent cause of this
type of gastrointestinal distress Is a
poison produced by staphylocAceua
germs, which' are vigorous and common.
They thrive at room temperature
In certain foods, especially
meats, cream sauces, dressings such
as mayonnaise, and custard or cream
liui; tries.
The victims of infected food experience
nausea, vomiting, diarrhea,
;«imps and prostration. The illness
s seldom very serious or long-lasting.
Protection against food poisoning
demands (1) that scrupulous cleanllless
be indulged in the preparation
>f all foods; (2) that all foods—even
crackers—be kept In scaled .containers;
(31 that only fresh, uncontamlnated
foods be used; and (4)
that foods susceptible to spoilage be
kept under constant adequate refrigeration
until they are to be e.itcn.—
