shock, well let’s just say that experience<br />
counts. In comparison to a two-stroke<br />
there is just no space to work on these<br />
four-strokes – that’s my first moan.<br />
Second, because of the lack of space<br />
and perhaps lack of procedural knowhow<br />
it took ages to figure out the best<br />
way to go about fitting the shock. Five<br />
hours in fact. I was not best pleased<br />
during the process but by the end I<br />
had it down to being able to change<br />
the shock in less than half hour. So a<br />
word to the wise – you have to remove<br />
the entire exhaust and loosen the subframe<br />
before beginning the shock<br />
install. There can be no shortcuts!<br />
This leads me to a major complaint on<br />
the design and routing of the exhaust<br />
pipe on the FE350. The shock cannister<br />
is WAY too close to the pipe. Heat is<br />
the enemy of proper rear suspension<br />
performance, especially in the<br />
reservoir/bladder – which literally sits<br />
on the top of the pipe just behind the<br />
