A
s the sun majestically started to rise over the
shores of White Sands Beach Resort and
Spa at Malibago Cebu, the excitement was already
building as teams from as far as Zambales, started to
arrive to contest the 2017 Cebu Lifeguard Challenge
in a day that would expose the skills these young
skilled and trainee lifesavers
had learnt since becoming
part of this prestige group of
junior citizens.
Lifesaving and Lifeguard
Rescue are two of the most
important elements of safety
in any water sport activity,
and these young athletes
train tirelessly all year round
to make your watersports
holiday a safer one. So now
it was their day to show
off their skills and compete
against each other in a series
of events, this year organized

representing resorts
that are fully aware
of the importance of
water safety enough to
sponsor a team.

of these young citizens, and sincere thanks go out
to all the resorts who recognise the importance
of these events. The teams
competing this year were from
Bohol Beach Club, Cebu Park
Lane Hotel, JPark Island Resort
and Waterpark, Sanga Bohol,
Surf Lifesaving Cebu chapters
from both Minglanilla and
Naga, Villa Teresita Resort and
Zambales Surf Lifesaving.
The event was sponsored by
the White Sands Beach Resort,
who open their doors and their
hearts to the event supplying
not only the venue but all
refreshments and meals for all
the competitors and officials.
