Saheeh Seerah Al Albaanee English

you and for us.’ He ﷺ asked: ❝And what is that?❞ They said: ‘You worship our
gods – al-Laat and al-`Uzza – for one whole year, and we will worship your Ilaah for one
whole year.’ He ﷺ said: ❝I will wait till I receive (revelation) from my Lord.❞ Then
Revelation came from al-Lauh al-Maḥfooẓh (the Preserved Tablet):
‏﴿ق ل ‏ُيَاُأَيُّهَاُال كَافِرونَُ*ُّلَ‏ ‏ُأَع ب د ‏ُمَاُتَع ب د ونَُ﴾‏
{Say (O Muḥammad): “O Al-Kaafiroon! I worship not that which you worship…”} till
the end of the Surah [Surah al-Kaafiroon (109) 1-6]
Allaah تعاىل also revealed:
‏﴿ق ل ‏ُأَفَغَي رَُاللَّهُِتَأ م ر وِنِّ‏ ‏ُأَع ب د ‏ُأَيُّهَاُاجل ‏َاهِل ونَُ*ُوَلَقَد ‏ُأ وحِ‏ يَُإِلَي كَُُوَإِىلَ‏ ‏ُالَّذِينَُمِنُقَب لِكَ‏ ‏ُلَئِن ‏ُأَش رَك تَ‏ ُ
لَيَح بَطَنَُّعَمَل كَ‏ ‏ُوَلَتَك ونَنَُّمِنَُاْل ‏َاسِ‏ رِينَُ*ُبَلِ‏ ‏ُاللَّهَُفَاع ب د ‏ُوَك نُمِّنَُالشَّاكِرِينَ﴾‏
{Say (O Muḥammad to the polytheists, etc.): “Do you order me to worship other than
Allaah O you fools?” And indeed it has been revealed to you (O Muḥammad), as it
was to those (Allaah's Messengers) before you: “If you join others in worship with
Allaah, (then) surely (all) your deeds will be in vain, and you will certainly be among
the losers.” Nay! But worship Allaah (Alone and none else), and be among the
grateful.} [Surah al-Zumar (39): 64-66]
Reported by Ibn Jareer (30/331) and Ibn Abee Ḥaatim and al-Ṭabaraanee in “al-
Sagheer” (751), as mentioned in “al-Durr” (6/404) and the chain of this narration is
“Ḥasan”.
