Chapter 2: Delete the LLE
Most people really dislike the idea of change. And most people
intensely dislike having to change!
Undergoing change, to most, means having to let go of life as
you know it. Change means entering a new land which is totally
unknown, unfamiliar, and uncomfortable. Where you are right
now is your Comfort Zone and it’s very safe.
You feel secure with your surroundings because they are so
familiar, they’re what you’re used to, you know what to do and
you know what to expect. You may not like everything about
the way things are, but they are a whole heck of a lot better
than crossing the border and trespassing on new unchartered
territory, right?
The truth is that without impetus, most people could stay
in the safety and convenience of their Comfort Zone for the
rest of their lives without ever changing, theoretically being
comfortable and in somnambulistic sameness. To paraphrase
Alfred E. Newman’s Mad Magazine motto: “What, me change?”
This always makes Fairy Godmothers chuckle…
