The <strong>of</strong>ficer returned your papers and asked you if you knew<br />

how fast you were going. You weren’t sure, but you knew it was<br />

excessive for the speed limit. You were thinking this would be a<br />

preliminary discussion before he or she laid it on you.<br />

Of course, you were acquiescent in your guilt, and you were<br />

waiting for the other shoe to drop. In the conversation, you<br />

acknowledged you were going too fast and you expressed your<br />

remorse. The <strong>of</strong>ficer listened to what you had to say and the<br />

told you, “You have a good driving record, so I’m going to let<br />

you <strong>of</strong>f with a warning this time.<br />

Do you remember the flood <strong>of</strong> relief, the amazing sensation <strong>of</strong><br />

Gratitude that suddenly filled your entire emotional body, the<br />

ecstatic thoughts that went through your mind, the release <strong>of</strong><br />

all the physical anxiety you’d been holding until that moment?<br />

commit to deeply and truly expressing your gratitude for all the<br />

amazing and magnificent people, events and things in your life.<br />

It’s ridiculous how much we accept as normal in our everyday<br />

lives. You open your refrigerator and there’s fresh food inside.<br />

That’s a miracle. You go into the bathroom and there’s a toilet,
