President Message:<br />
July 4th is the day when all Americans<br />
Families celebrate with pool parties<br />
and barbeques and a bang of fireworks!<br />
Life is good because of the citizens who<br />
served their country, we enjoy<br />
freedom.<br />
Fredom is not free, the price paid so<br />
that others can enjoy freedom was paid with the red blood of<br />
the patriotic brothers and sisters who served. We cannot take<br />
that for granted. This years project is to support the<br />
men and woman that are deployed.<br />
I ask you to start collecting items to put in the care packages<br />
to be sent abroad. We have partnered with The Valley Resource<br />
Center to assemble the care packages and send them to the<br />
appropriate troops. Adopt-A-Troop Program -We send<br />
monthly care packages to deployed military members each<br />
month with letters of support and encouragement.<br />
Don’t forget we are still continuing to collect flags with<br />
embroidered stars. This project is to honor the veterens as we<br />
meet them in our community.<br />
Ladies, please honor, respect and support<br />
our vets. Freedom is really not free!<br />
Remember to keep track of your<br />
volunteer hours. See you on the 9th!<br />

LUNCHEON RESERVATIONS<br />
This year we plan to have catered lunches at our meetings again. The process will<br />
change slightly from previous years, with prepaid reservations.<br />
Your Calling Committee Communicator will call you during the last week of the<br />
month to remind you about the meeting, donations for the meeting (woman’s products),<br />
and the luncheon menu.<br />
Reserve lunch, your payment MUST BE RECEIVED before our General Meeting:<br />
COST will be $11 if paid in advance and $12 if paid at the door.<br />
You can choose to make your check payable to Menifee/Sun City Woman’s Club and<br />
mail it to P.O. Box 846, Sun City, CA 92586 or you can choose to use your computer<br />
to access our website: www.gfwcmenifeesuncity.org and pay through PayPal by<br />
clicking on “BUY NOW”.<br />
Once your payment has been received (before the deadline) your luncheon reservation<br />
is confirmed. If you do not make reservations with your Calling Committee<br />
Communicator, you can still make reservations until the Monday before our monthly<br />
meetings.<br />

<strong>GFWC</strong> MENIFEE/SUNCITY WOMAN’S CLUB<br />
2018-19 PROJECT : Adopt-A-Troop Military Care Package Program<br />
Most of the troops we will support are from our community and are referred to Valley<br />
Resource Center by a friend or loved one. We would like to help, we need items such as<br />
food, instant coffee, and protein powder as well as shipping costs. If you wish to donate<br />
items, please see the suggested list below. Please note that many of our units are serving in<br />
the Middle East where it gets very hot so please do not donate items that may melt or<br />
aerosol cans. Letters of support for our military are always welcome and appreciated as well.<br />
<strong>GFWC</strong> Menifee/Sun City Woman’s Club is committed to the Adopting-A-Troop program. To<br />
find out how you can assist a specific unit for the duration of their deployment by providing<br />
care package items, shipping costs, and letters of support! Contact Valley Resource Center<br />
for more information about how you can join them at a care package event. This will also<br />
count as volunteer hours for <strong>GFWC</strong>.<br />
Valley Resource Center also try's to accommodate special requests from our troops.<br />
Here is a current list of requested items:<br />
Flip flop sandals, licorice & gum, Lays, pretzels, Pringles, Tostitos Scoops, Instant coffee, Q-Tips, hard candy, female<br />
razors, cashews, almonds, trail mix, peanut M&Ms, sanitizer, big toothpaste (not mini), bar soap shampoo / body<br />
wash, tape, packing tape, scotch tape, duct tape, etc., boxes of pasta elbows, bowties, Chex Mix Bold, Hot Cheetos,<br />
Swedish Fish, Doritos, Fruit Snacks, Gatorade, Strawberry Lemonade, Coffee, Beef Jerky, Sour Sweet Tarts, Sour<br />
Gummy Worms, Gummy Bears, hard candy is the best to ship.<br />
In lieu of bringing items to the meeting ,donate $5 and we will go purchase items on your behalf.
