A MESSAGE
FROM THE
PRINCIPAL
This year has been successful just as the previous years. From
academics to extracurriculars (our sport teams have had a lot more
wins this year than the last!)
In terms of events, just to point one out- I had the opportunity to join
in the music tour, where the students were amazing- the behavior,
attitude and most importantly the passion- they were the ones that
made the tour fantastic- and I feel like this passion embodies the
school well.
Challenge,
Inspire,
Encourage
Some advice I would give students all over is to always do a job that
you love, otherwise your life will be miserable- and keep learning! I
wouldn’t be doing my job properly if I weren’t learning something
new everyday.
Our goals for the school include bigger premises and more facilitiesto
make KES ideal and perfect, I’m glad that the staff and students still
do really well with what we’ve got.

The school life is precious and brings with it new challenges, new hopes
and we always plan new achievements. The year 2018-19 is especially
important as it is the penultimate year before we enter the 40th
anniversary of the school, so a lot of planning has to be done and
obviously we will be reflecting on the past. Since the past is behind us, we
have to plan for a even better future for our students as they are the
most precious elements of our school along with the teachers of course.

Attending K.E.S. for the last decade is something I am truly thankful for. I have learnt
countless meaningful lessons both in and out the classroom and I am sure all of you can say
the same.
There are a few things I have learnt that I personally would say are the most vital. I was
taught to always strive for excellence and to evolve into the best version of myself.
Through the bonds formed between my peers I experienced true friendship and teamwork.
Arguably the most important lesson was the importance of respect
, not only how to behave in an academic environments but also in everyday life. The diverse pool of students that
make up K.E.S. has allowed me to embrace different cultures with open arms. These are all esteemed values that I
will carry with me from here on out.
Of my achievements over the last ten years, being appointed Head Girls is the one I am the most proud of. It’s been
an honor to spearhead the Class of 2018, alongside Kunal, with the guidance of the sixth form’s pillar: Mrs.
Marchant. This has been a tremendously successful year for the Sixth Form Committee organizing several annual
school events, my personal favorite being the helpers’ dinner. Being DSG of KESMUN 2018 and working with the
exceptional executive committee was the perfect way to draw the curtain on my MUN journey, and for that I am
thankful.
Every experience I have had in K.E.S. has brought me one step closer to where I am today. Every team I was a part
of, every club I joined and everything I lead has moulded me into the person that has graduated ten years later.
Kuwait English School has given me endless opportunities to garner and enhance skills that will prove useful
beyond the realms of its hallowed halls.
As I turn the final page of the high school chapter of my life, I would like to thank the entire senior school staff for
their mentorship and the sixth form students for their never-ending support. Thank you for making my final school
year so remarkable. I wish you all nothing but success.

I will miss Kuwait English School. It's been a wonderful 13 years in KES and I
hope it's been the same for all of my peers who will be leaving this year.
I have made amazing friendships and memories that I shall cherish forever throughout
my years at KES.Thank you to all the teachers of KES who take the time and effort to
make our lessons as enjoyable, and have always been there for us. Being head boy was
an amazing experience and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. A Massive thank you to
Mrs.Marchant, all the prefects who helped make our events run as smoothly as possible,
and those in year 12 and 13 who weren't in the prefect team but still helped us. I wish
everyone in Kuwait English School the best of luck for the future. Chase your dreams.

Two students from Kuwait English School, Abdul Rahman Altattan and Mohammed Al Faihli, both of Year 11, received
a Special Achievement certificate from the Ministry of Education this month.
The students made it through to round 4 of the Kuwait Maths Olympiad and they are now in the top 14 students from
all Kuwait Schools.
Were they to pass this round, they will then progress to the GCC Maths Olympiad final next term.
Members of the High Management headed by Chairman Mr Mohammed Jassim Al Saddah, School Director, Mrs
Rhoda E. Muhmood MBE along with the Senior High School Principal, Mrs Janet Carew, Head of Maths, Mr Peter
Unsworth and Olympiad coach, Mr Chris Glykys, all congratulate the students on their success so far and wish them
the best of luck on results day.

DITOR'S NOTE
Hello! Thank you for reading/watching? (You don’t read pictures do you?) this Yearbook! Many
people have worked really really hard on this, and I hope that all of you liked it, as much as we
had making it!(Let’s just ignore the coffee crazed nights for now)-
"Yeah-we can totally make a Yearbook..." I spoke with unnerving confidence, infront of Mrs.
Carew, right next to the President of the SRC and Vice.
Yup, It is Official- No backing away now.
Woops… That began the process of Constantly worrying over color schemes, making and
remaking layouts, losing my mind making sure every angle was 90 degrees
And It finally happened! After around 2 years without a Yearbook, the school has one! Sure it is
a soft copy- But I’m sure that Next year we can finally have our beloved written books back.
There will be a proper club next year dedicated to the Yearbook, the more people the merrier-
It’s not just me who has had to work through the night, there are many, many people that have
come together to ensure that the yearbook gets released this year, listed on the next page-
Please thank them, for this yearbook would not have been made without them!
It’s the end of the school year, and exams have either started or finished, everyone is in the
hustle and bustle, perhaps waiting for a better 2019… in mid june- I hope that this yearbook is
a good reminder- a celebration of what we have all achieved this year . Here are also people
