weigh down <strong>the</strong> soul; but we need not fail nor be<br />

discouraged while we know that <strong>the</strong> bow of<br />

promise is above <strong>the</strong> throne of God. We shall be<br />

subject to heavy trials, opposition, bereavement,<br />

affliction; but we know that Jesus passed through<br />

all <strong>the</strong>se. These experiences are valuable to us. The<br />

advantages are not by any means confined to this<br />

short life. They reach into eternal ages. Through<br />

patience, faith, and hope, in all <strong>the</strong> changing scenes<br />

of life, we are forming characters for everlasting<br />

life. Everything shall work toge<strong>the</strong>r for good to<br />

There is <strong>the</strong> highest reason for us to prize <strong>the</strong><br />

true Sabbath and stand in its defense, for it is <strong>the</strong><br />

sign which distinguishes <strong>the</strong> people of God from<br />

<strong>the</strong> world. The commandment that <strong>the</strong> world makes<br />

void is <strong>the</strong> one to which, for this very reason,<br />

God’s people will give greater honor. It is when <strong>the</strong><br />

unbelieving cast contempt upon <strong>the</strong> word of God<br />
