for “My name’s sake.” Because the world does not
like a man, it does not follow that he is a Christian.
It must dislike him for the same reason that it
disliked Christ. Those that are Christians will be
reviled because they are in harmony with Christ’s
life and character. “And it shall turn to you for a
testimony. Settle it, therefore, in your hearts, not to
meditate before what ye shall answer; for I will
give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your
adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and
brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of
you shall they cause to be put to death. And ye
shall be hated of all men for My name’s sake. But
there shall not an hair of your head perish. In your
patience possess ye your souls.” (Verses 13-19) In
your endurance acquire your lives. We are living
just before the coming of the Lord. “For yet a little
while, and He that shall come, will come, and will
not tarry.” It is in our endurance that we acquire
our lives. Before the coming of the Lord, there will
be a people who will be fulfilling His will. Our
place is to be one of them. Our place is to be one of
those of whom the Lord can say, “Here is the
